OneBlueVoice Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 St Mawgan 2-3 Camelford Good solid start for the camels played in surprisingly good condiions at St Mawgan.St Mawgan took the initative with the first goal midway through the first half after a strong start from camelford. Camelford had a hatful of chances but couldnt find the net with the st mawgan backline clearing off the line more than once.Camelford finally got their goal through Dan Piper finishing neatly in a one on one.Camelford had enough chances to put the game to bed in the half but went in at one one.Second half started again with the camels pressuring at every opportunity.Dan Piper grabbed another to give camelford the lead and got his hat trick shortly saving the best finish until las lofting one up and over the stranded keeper.St Mawgan set up a tense final fifteen when the blues defence failed to clear in a scramble.Camelford should've regained the two goal cushion when Aron Williams selflessly squared the ball to Fergus Lessels who fired straight at the keeper, twice.Couldnt buy a goal today. The home team nearly levelled at the death but the ball rolled agonisingly wide.Good run out for all involved after the lengthy xmas layoff. Special mention to the great food layed on by st mawgan was handsome, probably best we ve had all season.
ant powder Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Foxhole V Grampound This the first game of 2012 for both teams. The game kicked off and Grampound got off to the better start. After 4mins in Grampound Number 4 made a lunging tackle on Foxholes number 8, a yellow maybe should of been given, but not even a free kick was given. The first half Foxholes defence had to stand strong to keep out Grampound, I would say Grampound had more possession in the first half and edged the better play to. Second Half Foxhole came out and got there game together with the wind now in their favour. Foxhole’s Rob Giltjes may of been lucky to stay on the pitch after a wild tackle on Grampounds number 2. Minutes later Foxholes Danny Denning (who is back at foxhole 2nds after being away from us for a few years) So on his sort of debut he was put through on goal by Rob Giltjes, for Danny to be brought down by Grampounds Keeper, a stone wall pen, no nothing given. Foxhole kept up the pressure and 5 mins later Danny Denning got the goal to put foxes 1 up. His goal came from the left channel with a splended finish into the right hand corner of the net. Grampound went looking for a goal to get themselves back in the game but foxes defence stood strong and then on the break Foxes found their 2nd goal which can only be described as a super goal from Aydan Rundle who rounded one defender to then hit the ball on the volley to the back of the net. At 2nil Foxes took control of the game, there was a few silly tackles before the end of the game by both teams, but the pitch was quite soft and there was always going to be some tackles flying about although I must say we do not support silly tackles. That’s the only real disappointment from today’s game. To sum up – This was one good game to watch from the sides, first half Grampound having much of the play and second half foxhole taking their chances. Proper Cornish man of the match for foxhole – Jason Hancock a lad that has come back to us just before Christmas and his attitude has been spot on and his ability to play is now shining through. Today Jason played well to keep the Grampound attack at bay. Other mentions- Danny, what can I say, could not ask for more from this lad today, worked hard, battled when needed, played some lovely 1 2’s and scored. Donkey of the day – Joe Warren, Joe had all the time in the world to cross a ball from a pass but kicked it 20ft air, only to do the same again when the ball came back down. FINAL SCORE - FOXHOLE 2 – GRAMPOUND 0
get in Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 polperro 4-2 boscastle !!! 1st game back after xmas break and i'm a happy manager even though we didn't get the result we desevred today in 1st ten minutes we boscasstle took a while to get in the game and were under a little pressure and for rest of the half we were on top playing some good football but not finishing our chances and just before half time a cross from the right which looked like our keeper was going to collect easy was re diverted by our defender which rolled into the net 1-0 polperro halftime ! at the start of the 2nd half we came out and played as we did in the 1st, and got a soft pen which the polperro keeper save excellently which seemed to give them a lift and they scored a second goal after that then after we got back into it again they broke away and got a corner which was swung in from the right and a mistake between keeper and defender allowed a soft 3rd then with about 10 minutes left and after concerted pressure from a corner the ball was cleared and the boscastle defender passed the ball back to the keeper and the pressure from the on coming striker panicked him and he passed the ball straight to polperro no8 who then finished well 4-0 and 8 mins left most teams would have sat back and given up but thats not our attiude and we carried on pressing to our credit we scored 2 good goals for ourselves and bring a little respectabilty to the score !!! good luck to polperro for rest of season nice bunch of lads !!!
playmaker10 Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 A fair report, just want to add about Jason Hancocks fantastic 50/50 challenge with our number 8 in the first half. Both guys fully committed exactly what you would like to see. Only for Jason to end with the most vicious kick and stamp afterwards. The ref didn't see anything (no surprise there) and a straight red would have been just about sufficient. I understand that todays ref was being assessed. I just hope the decision will be made to ask him to retire in a pleasant way so he doesn't referee again. I believe he has been a stalwart of refereeing for years but his performance put people at risk of serious injury. Summed up when one of my players substituted left the field with the comment " im glad to be out of there, its dangerous with that ref". I know players are the ones who make the the challenges but I'm sure Foxhole in their honesty would agree with this statement. Good luck to Foxhole, a good bunch of lads who played well on the day. Red Mist Richie Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Ant powder! Think that is a very fair write! Thought danny was amazing for you and was your stand out player! You should have a clear pen which even we were shocked it wasn't given :/ but in the first half felt grampound had more of the ball and was unlucky when tim peers 25 yarder came back of the post! Foxhole came out wanting it more the second half. Rob's tackle was on me should have been sent off but unfortunely the ref couldn't see that far but! Fair play to foxhole played well down the slope and deserves the 3 points! I know we shouldn't moan about refs as without them we wouldn't have a game and they have a hard job to do but I think someone should have word about retiring! Nice guy will talk to you and I know he has been around for a very long time! This is my view and has nothing to do grampound fc

playmaker10 Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 i was at a game being refereed by the ref in question and there was a clear punch on an opposing player, this ref did nothing and even told the punched player he deserved it. once again i add he is a lovely gentleman and makes decisions to what he sees. I just think he is too old now and football has moved on from when he started reffing. Players are less honest and the antics of the professional players is beginning to rub of on grass roots football. I hope i don't get myself in trouble for these comments I'm just being honest. I haven't slated him personally with nasty comments as again he is a lovley gentlemen. But he needs to be honest with himself and so do the powers that be. I do believe he was being assessed on the day by Malcolm West.
B Manning Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Sorry goosefish, you made two remarks about a referee ( i will not quote you on them ) now if you had made those remarks to a referee on the field of play he could well have found them offensive and sent you off, exactly the same as when you were reported for comments on here which brought you a fine and ban. A peice of advice may be useful, engage brain before using keyboard would be a help.

Not sure as a referee the second half of your last sentence is wise as couldn't a player take umbridge and report it to the CCFA :clapper:
B Manning Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Just trying to be helpful Dave, in no way was that derogatory. All have done is to suggest that he thinks before typing.
Dave Deacon Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 in no way was that derogatory Some might dispute that. Perhaps we should see what the CCFA or the Refs Section would say? :D

FlippoH Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Playmaker 10 you are right I was the one who recieved the punch and still can't believe the response from the ref. No card because I deserved it. I always thought the referee is ment to take the players safety into consideration. I do agree without referees there would be no game to play but decisions like that really need to be looked at
