Bad result for town today, don't play no where near like they did Monday at Kimberley stadium thought Shane white at the back today was solid. Drummo needed a partner up top today, where was hodgey?.

It appears Careys Falmouth hit a brick wall today after their freescoring run of late.

Did anyone watch the Buckland v St Austell game, was there a big gulf between the 2 sides or a lesson in finishing from Buckland?

And will the Newquay FC hate club be silenced for a few days after their 9v1 demolition of Port?

On the way home from the Buckland v St Austell game, good entertaining match, buckland were on top in first half and deserved the half time lead. St Austell came out on the second half with a changed formation and took the game more to the hosts rather than sitting back , could, perhaps should of equalised when header went just over and in my opinion had the better of the second half. Second goal was strong close range shot after a bit of a scramble in the box. Overall I would say that Buckland deserved the win mainly due to the first half where they were the better team but not a gulf in class between the two sides.

Saltash gained revenge for their cup exit last week. A couple of brave choices from the managers seemed to have the desired effect. They dropped Gav Coulton in place of Matt cusack who played a full 90 mins after a lengthly lay off through injury. He also handed a debut to Ben Elphick in goal.

It was a completely different game to the cup tie. Drummond and Hicks didn't seem to look as dangerous, and Saltash seemed to be finding quite a lot of space all over the park. I think the Ashes thoroughly deserved the 3 points today.

Play was suspended for quite a while when Saltash's rapid winger, Luke Dodderidge was stretchered off after a challenge with Keeper Chapman. It was a 50-50 ball which was there to be won. Fingers crossed the injury isn't too serious.

The Management got it "spot on" today, excellent result and puts us 1 point behind Falmouth, with a game in hand.

From where I was standing, the 50-50 between Falmouth keeper Chapman and young Luke Doddridge was unfortunate and I sincerely hope the injury isn't too serious.

I still think Darren Hicks made a major mistake in leaving "the ashes" to join Falmouth. He looked to be enjoying his game at Saltash, not the impression I get now he is with Falmouth.

Incidentally, I can only describe Bickland Park as a "mud pit" this afternoon.

Surely the existing standard of facilities at Bickland Park are a "million miles" away from those acceptable for Western League standard.

Great win for Saltash. It's amazing how many times that happens in football when 2 teams play eachother twice in a row. Good to hear Cusack is back to full fitness too, great lad

That is shocking sending someone around the grounds to see if someone has an account called slicedbread on here if I were asked I would say no anyway.i havent been asked?.the club wants my money and I want a good game of football that's it.sorry but your actions are continuing to shock me.this is a place for football opinions and I contribute when I said something you did not like you turn funny.guess I will use my money to support a club that welcomes opinions and wants my cash as it puts a dampner on Saturday football not being able to comment on football without being hassled on here and to be honest it only started on here never a problem at the ground. I wish torpoint all the best for the future and will remain a follower not a supporter.

Somehow i doubt it will. But i will enquire, and if it does i will make up the difference

I have to agree with Slicebread on this ocassion. Everyone on here can be a follower of a club and not a supporter. I wrote a summary of Torpoints recent game with Dobwalls with Slicebread also commenting on other things I did not mention that did happen in the game so he/she does go to games.

Secondly, as a follower you are helping clubs you follow with their profits by paying on the gates, buying programmes, drinks, food, raffles, 50/50s. I go to watch Newquay, Saltash, Torpoint, Truro 1st, St Blazey. Does that make me a supporter of all these clubs or just clubs I follow, until I go to visit other grounds.

Pasty man :SM_carton: what a load of waffle you talk, I was unable to go because of my operation, but from what I read Saltash well deserved the win ,

but your comments about the town pitch& ground are unfounded, in all the bad weather we have had recentley there has been a game at bickland park every week so it was bound to cut up it has not had a chance to recover from the very wet weather of late until the recent rain comments from visiting supporters were that the Falmouth pitch was as good as any in the county & that the ground improvements were very good & will be even better when the work is completed,& before you make such statements read the Forum fully, The Falmouth Town Chairman has already stated that over the next few weeks improvments are going to be made,

maybe you can save the club from making these improvments by waving a magic wand,

Hammers, :c::blink: :c:

Whilst I appreciate the recent spate of very wet weather has caused pitches to "cut up", I do feel the Falmouth pitch to be the worst I have seen this season.

The "terracing", on the side opposite the main "grandstand" was extremly slippery. Again, the weather has not helped, but to gain acceptance to the Western League, surely there is a "mountain of ground improvements to be made.

Incidentally, what "improvements" have been made at Bickland Park? As the only difference I have noticed is the extremly poor quality concreting on the slopes behind each goal. What can only be described as a "cowboy" job. Not one expansion joint, hence cracking everywhere.

Whilst I applaud any club trying to improve its ground and infrastructure, I do feel there is a sense of Falmouth Town "lauding" itself here on the forum.

What improvements do you think need to be made to gain acceptance at Step 5? Bickland Park is already better than the likes of Ilfracombe Town, Bristol Manor Farm, Odd Down etc. or at least it was when I last went to each of those clubs (within the last 2 or 3 years)

Can you provide any example of Falmouth Town 'lauding' itself on this forum?

The only sense I get is you being obsessed by the club as you are continually spouting nonsense regarding the club/manager/players.

Pastyman bore off, u talk a load of rubbish. Saltash's surface weren't much better mon wen I played on it, the weather ain't helped the pitches lately and r gonna be boggy and turn up. But still getting 90 mins on the pitch on a sat, a lot of other games on a day have been calle off due to bad pitches.

Thought this thread was for Saturdays results? 43 posts later it's become a Falmouth, Saltash and Torpint followers/ supporters slagging match.

For the record - good game for the spectators at Lux park yesterday resulting in a 1 all draw. Tavi took the lead early in the 2nd half, James Donnellon came off the bench to equalise leaving a frantic final 15 minutes in which either side could have snatched the winner. To be fair neither side deserved to lose this one.

On a lighter note, I'd just like to write a line or two about the St Dennis fans yesterday at Truro. They turned up in real numbers - must have been Truro Reserves' best gate so far this season by some margin. A lot of WAGS who brightened up the place and no bad-mouthing worth mentioning. I did say a word of thanks to them all over the PA at the end of the game. The 2 - 1 scoreline would have been seen as right by the home fans but I'm sure St Dennis fans would have felt a bit robbed of at least a draw after their late rally. The team, officials and especially their followers were a credit to their club and a credit to this beautiful game. Best of luck to them for the rest of the season.
