Charman Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Madron (trelawney 2) 1-7 St Buryan (premiership) We had a couple of players missing but we were beat by a far better team. I think the ref had a shocker of a game, apart the 3 sendings off which were all correct. St Buryan have a very good team and good luck to St Buryan for the rest of the season :)
Mick Macarthys brother Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Constantine 0 Helston 1 (M. Davis) Good game of football by two decent sides. both teams commited to the famouse junior cup cause. As a manager you can only ask your team to give everything they got and evey player did but it wasnt to be.Good luck to Basher and his team. Good bunch of lads and worthy opponents who will give Threemilestone a good test next week. Man of the match for me was blakey solid at the back and didnt give our forwards nothing, But followed closly by Stevie Jewell and Dinch for Tine. well done boys proud of you all. Roll on next week against Portreath and try and bounce back as soon as poss.

madras Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Madron 1 St. Buryan 7 Not a bad game of football really, held buryan at bay for about 25 minutes but once they scored the writing was pretty much on the wall, good effort from my lads today kept battling against a very good fast passing side, who,s midfield quartet boast some very talented players. Would like to thank all my lads for their efforts through this cup run certainly done themselves and the club proud. The only negative from this game was the very poor refereeing performance , in a game of this level there was no continuity of decision or performance at any point really, on the three sendings off he probably got them right to the letter of the law, but certainly the last 2 could have been dealt with in a more sensible manner after the original offence. Good luck to ian and his lads in the next round and for the rest of their season.

Helston outmuscled a small Tine team on the whole and that was where the game was won with helston prob just deserving to edge it. Defences well on top with from what i can remember each keeper only making one or maybe 2 saves each. Tine had a chance to pull level in last seconds but the keeper then post denied them. Prob Tines only good part of the game was in the last 10mins when tney went for it. 2 good teams on paper but both not great today. Helston got the job done and best of luck to them in next round. Im sure with the players they have they have a chance but will have to play much much better than today. My MOM would be Blakey at the back but having said that route one to 2 small strikers was never going tobe a problem for him. Couldnt pick a MOM for Tine, nobody stood out, maybe the full backs as were only 2 players who seemed to bein right positions for most of the game.
Harsh but FAIR Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Never mind Jarvo always next year and then the year after that and the year after that and so on and so on lmfao

Cheers Jarvo for your compliments but on this occassion your praise should be aimed at Daren Thomas, my partner in crime, who ran things in my absence. Yes we have the older experienced players but our younger ones can play a bit too. Good luck for the rest of the season.

Dont know much about either to be honest. Helston try to keep under the radar and as the old cliche says, take a game at a time. No dig intended but the conditions at Tine are not perhaps conducive is great football but teams must deal with all types of conditions and styles of play. Maybe your comment about about the Tine full-backs being the only ones in the right postions for most of the game is a veiled compliment to Helston, perhaps Tine were pulled around????
Soccer Follower Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Good test for your squad next week at Threemilestone Le Boss?
le boss Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Good test for your squad next week at Threemilestone Le Boss? Yes probably - they play on a primary school pitch dont they? Is it big or small?
Tine boy Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 R yer peninsula players bein paid to play junior footballThe tine pitch ain't bad surface apart from slope. Elston ain't great is it wind wind wind. We play for love of it at tine and the great manager we ave do urs for u
Pitty Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Good test for your squad next week at Threemilestone Le Boss? Yes probably - they play on a primary school pitch dont they? Is it big or small? Bash take a big squad as the changing rooms are very very roomy and lots of wonderful hot showers after the game Joking aside the pitch is nice and big and was pretty firm underfoot when we played yesterday although could do with a bit of a cut
le boss Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Was not referring to the surface and as i said i was not having a dig at Tine - i meant the famous slope which is a real challenge for visiting teams and yes i hate the wind when and only when it blows in Helston. Peninsula players? it is only in the singular - Graham Blake is the only one who has only recently dropped down because the first team has such a large squad and he was not getting regular football and being a first class club man, despite offers from Combo teams, has come to play for the club's reserves team. Paying? This is very junior football so be realistic - they probably play for my partner in crime but not for me ha ha

Pitty Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Couldn't agree more Nige Players who can't take a cold shower really need to "man up" ;)
j1mmy_t Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 I defo know that mikey davies doesn't get any money for playing for helston seconds, as I'm his brother in law, some tine fans just sore losers perhaps?.... And I said SOME so don't need all the tine faithful hurling abuse now do we :)
Tine boy Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Good statement mate he just a good player we at the Tine are still gutted about the result but the league title is sa aim!.Jarvo will lead the way he is our mouriniho.
Gee Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Junior Cup Newlyn East 2 - 4 Illogan aet 1st Half was all Illogan with Kitchy in goal having nothing much to do, should have gone in at the break a couple up but wasted some good chances again! 2nd half Newlyn came out much better for first 10 but once we got the first goal a 2nd followed quickly and the game was quite comfortable for us, we should have gone 3 up shortly after that as well but wasted a great chance. Then the ref decided to make things interesting when he decided not to give a handball even though the linesman was flagging and Newlyn scored from it, this seemed to throw us and with 10 to go and playing much better they managed to get another with a sharp turn and strike. We then went into extra time and took complete control again and went 2 up in the first 10 mins of extra time which meant the game was over and we just played out the rest with no real problems. Newlyn were a good bunch of lads and wish them all the best in their respective league this year.

Ours but before you say anything even the player who handballed it even said after the game he did and was surprised he got away with it, but as they always say you should play to the whistle and we switched off.

It was also a foul throw our lino put the flag up for. Told the ref and he ignored it.
newlyneastno.10 Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 i dont think that lino knows the rules anyway to be fair..., but yea the goal was handball.., Congratulations to Illogan were the better side on the day.., good luck in the next round
