pastyman Posted January 1, 2012 Report Posted January 1, 2012 Two matches stand out amongst the list of ties, SALTASH UNITED v FALMOUTH TOWN and BODMIN TOWN v PLYMOUTH PARKWAY. Personally, I can see both home teams winning these ties. SALTASH UNITED are in a rich vein of form and should prove more than a match for FALMOUTH TOWN. BODMIN TOWN are difficult to beat at home and should prove too strong for PLYMOUTH PARKWAY.

Of course you being a Saltash supporter you would favour them, I fancy Falmouth but may the best team win, Hammers UP THE TOWN :c:

view_from_the_stand Posted January 1, 2012 Report Posted January 1, 2012 i think bodmin will be too good for parkway!
pastyman Posted January 1, 2012 Author Report Posted January 1, 2012 Pastyman " kev hendy " of course u r gonna think saltash are gonna win :S WRONG, I'm not "Kev Hendy". But Carey will not relish the thought of playing "the ashes" tomorrow.
Slicedbread Posted January 1, 2012 Report Posted January 1, 2012 Is there not a possibility they could both be postponed due to the weather?
The Pocket Pitbull Posted January 2, 2012 Report Posted January 2, 2012 Went to watch this game anticipating that the ashes would thump Falmouth. How wrong can I be, I couldn't of been more wrong. All credit to Falmouth. Saltash were poor, but did well by keeping the score down could of lost by more, all credit to Gavin for the best dive of the season. :clapper:
Mike Odgers Posted January 2, 2012 Report Posted January 2, 2012 Sounds like a pulsating cup tie with Falmouth laying last season 'bogey' team Saltash who put them out of three cup competitions last season (Vase-Senior Cup-Throgmorton Cup) attendance 207 not bad considering Argyle were Home in a local 'Derby' First time Falmouth have reached the 4th.round but will have to wait for the Draw as it has been delayed until more ties have been completed. The two clubs meet again on Saturday at Bickland for what will be 'Match of the Day' 3rd. v 4th between two of the highest league scoring sides this season 62goals/66 goals The second goal (Matt Drummond) was the 100th. Falmouth goal this season in all competitions. Well done Town and 'F troop' have a safe journey Home in the club Bus.
High and Wide Posted January 2, 2012 Report Posted January 2, 2012 Was a great game, with the ashes taking a lead in the first minute, and the reply from Falmouth was good with Green hitting the bar from 20 yards, then two goals in a minute or so, green set up Drummond and the was on hand to knock in the rebound from Vercessi's shot whcih hit the post. Great cup tie, Saltash came back to 3-2 at the start of the 2nd Half , and Falmouth had a few chances to extend the lead and did so to 5-2 when Green got his second, a late penaly made it 5-3. Falmouth deserved it, and move on... should be a cracker next week at Falmouth.... Falmouth did well having played on a heavy pitch only 2 days ago, when Saltash were putting their feet up after their game was called off !!!! Great strike by the left back for Falmouth made it 4 ...top corner from 25 yards....
