CharlesYoung Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Varksy what a team! Good to see Sid and Nigel in there. Only 18 and it's good to know if played with and against some of the best in Cornish Football! Would be interested to see anyone from Porthleven, Wendron or Helston pick theirs?
RAPPO Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Yeah that really is some team Varksy!!! Would have loved to have played in that squad if we were all 25 again mate! Would have given the vase a crack with that group of players i reckon!!? Merry xmas
le boss Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Here is a Helston squad - only my opinion!!! Sid Taylor George Pattison Paul Skewes Alan Trerice Rob Bray Geoff Monk Kevin McHale David Matthews Mark Rowe James Eddy Karl Turner Ian Hodges Ralph Mitchell Brandon Walters Michael Pascoe(think he played for Helston)
CharlesYoung Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 Cheers Bash! Most of that lot still drink up the club now!
green&whitebarmyarmy Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 interesting that most peoples teams do not feature many current players
le boss Posted December 23, 2011 Report Posted December 23, 2011 interesting that most peoples teams do not feature many current players thats probably because today's players are nowhere near as good altho they may think so
bluestorm Posted December 24, 2011 Report Posted December 24, 2011 Here is a Helston squad - only my opinion!!! Sid Taylor George Pattison Paul Skewes Alan Trerice Rob Bray Geoff Monk Kevin McHale David Matthews Mark Rowe James Eddy Karl Turner Ian Hodges Ralph Mitchell Brandon Walters Michael Pascoe(think he played for Helston) Agree with most of your squad Le Boss, although four of those players had there most successful years playing for Mullion, The only other player i would include is Alex (the legend)Macdonald.
David Bray Posted December 24, 2011 Report Posted December 24, 2011 The St.Austell side of 1968 plus the 'messiah' Mike Bickle.

Yeah they might have but the requirement was to have played for Helston - you could argue that Ian Hodges went onto bigger things as did Topsy Turner, Brandon Walters - probably the whole squad played at a higher standard but i know what you mean.
