Percy Stephens Cup

Goonhavern 0 Wendron 1

A great battle today that wendron edged on their workrate and effort

all the best to Goonhavern for the rest of the season a good team that we may have caught on an off day

:thumbsup::clapper::drink: :drink: :c:

great win for wendron , wendron played well keeping goonhavern at bay. some fantastic saves from nick tomba in the 1st half .

wendron didnt have many clear chances but when they did made the goonhavern keeper pull off some good stops and was unlucky not

to keep out max randells winner with his 1st touch on as a sub.

well done wendron one of the results of the season not many teams are capable of going to goonhavern and getting a win.

Wendron deserved their win today. Worked harder than us and were very organised. We were woeful and got what we deserved. We won't beat ourselves up about it though - still competing on 3 fronts. All the best to Wendron.

Trelawny League Div. 3

Halsetown Res 2 .v. Holman SC Res 3

Match abandoned due to injury.

A good game of football obviously vastly overshadowed by an injury to Jaime Cooper from Holman in the second half, a suspected broken shin. We showed up and played with only 10 men and worked hard to gain a half time 3 - 1 advantage. The wind was in our favour in the 1st half but we played some neat stuff and asked questions of the home team time and again. Jason Williams scored our opener with a lob and then either side of a superb free kick for Halsetowns' first, regular 2nd team 'keeper Adam Batchelor scored two top drawer goals from his position in midfield. With the wind against them Halsetown relied on making the most of set pieces but for the most part saw attacks broken down or the ball run out of play. Second half we knew we had to put a shift in and due to a knock Jaime Cooper went into goal. We didn't trouble the home 'keeper but were holding Halsetown at bay. From a throw in, Lee Norman found space and hooked in a second for the home side and within minutes of this goal a scramble on the goal line saw the unfortunate injury to Jaime Cooper. It goes without saying that we all wish him a speedy recovery.

St Buryan 3 Gulval 3

2-1 To St Buryan at half time.

Gulval sorta deserved their point.

Gulval linesman/manager was bias throughout and they will get plenty of results with him running the line!

St Buryan were 2-0 up after 10 mins and cruising then Gulvals lino gave an offside which even Rhonda said wasn't. Gulval scored from the resulting free kick.

Good goals in terrible conditions from both teams in the second half resulted in a draw.

Rhondda also said Gulval had a good goal chalked off for an offside that wasn't, i guess you just misunderstood my winding up shinners ? .A good game considering the conditions, a fair result & an enjoyable day out at Buryan, not too many of them for us the last few seasons.

everyone going on about the mighty Tine, but you all know how it,s going to end.

Villiage wants success but don,t want outsiders, after a good season villiagers always want the local lads back in and that becomes a bad season then they look out for a manager like jarvo who will bring in a "Penryn" squad give them a bit of success then back come the villiagers wheres our local boys.

Also watch the space "Jarvo crawls back to Penryn" Jewel takes over as Tine manager "local boy"

Taken from local newspaper June 1st 2012 lol

There are around 20 villagers registered and most of them are involved regularly if not all at the same time. There is a very young 2nd team and several of the new players have been with the club before. Time will tell what success it brings. There is a lot of work going on within the club by local people to do the best for the club. Being a small village it isnt easy to keep clubs running. Mawnan have a superb club but they have far less from the village playing, what does it matter. Each club does what they can.

Tine were very good this weekend but havnt won anything yet. They will do there best and right now is very enjoyable to watch and be involved with.

I went down to watch The Tine take on Carharrack in the psc on sat.

The first half was bit of a slow starter with both teams trying to get used to the bog of a pitch, which got worse as the game went on. Tine opened the scoring with a quick freekick taking Carharrack off guard, slotting the ball across goal for a simple finish. The 2nd goal which was a turning point in the game was when a Carharrack defender played the ball off the Tine winger out for a goal kick a good foot behind the line. but the tine forward did what was right played to the whistle .. ( no linesman flag) (ref had too many bodies in the way) played on and smashed the ball away. Carharrack countered a few times and had a few good chances to get back in the game with there centre back missing a gift of a header but ht 2-0.

the 2nd half was manily Tine in control, Carharrack only allowed long shots to try and get into the game. Tine played possession football in the 2nd half and there midfielder (aj or rj) not sure his name creating chances for Minto(could be wrong) to finish the game off. this worked to a young winger who slotted ball across for minto to make it 3. then minto repaid the favour for 4. The carharrack goalkeeper who to be fair didnt have a great lot to do and could do much about the goals made 3 top class saves in the 2nd half but was unable to stop a 5th going in.

Tine Motm: Minto / AJ(RJ)

Carharrack Motm: Keeper.

Div 4

Redruth United Res 2 Goonhavern Res 7 HT 0-1

Goonhavern Scorers

Marc Wilson x4

Matt Millbanks

Craig Thomas

I forget who got the final goal!

That Marc Wilson is scoring a few goals, why isnt he with the first team or another club in a higher league?

He plays football for fun and Goonhavern reserves are where his mates are. Its where he chooses to be. That's loyalty for you!
