St. Columb Major 2 - 2 Week St. Mary

St. Columb Major threw away a two goal half-time advantage and with it almost sacrificed their unbeaten record following an interesting battle at The Recreation Ground.

A fairly even opening half an hour was followed by a clinical Dom Roberts finish after a flick on from fellow striker David Rabone. Roberts was on hand to add a fine second just before half time, neatly collecting Aaron Hawken's chipped pass, turning his marker to drive low into the net.

St. Columb were punished for switching off early in the second half when Jake Cartwright converted from close range. Despite the setback, Major looked fairly comfortable against the best footballing side they'd faced so far this season and shouts for what seemed to be a clear penalty were waved away when Rabone's attempted flick over the last defender was blocked with an arm.

Major yet again proved masters of their own downfall when confusion at the back gifted a soft equaliser. Week St. Mary were a threat on the counter attack and should really have gone ahead following a very presentable one on one chance. Although Anton Lake made himself big, the final finish slid wide of the post.

As the game concluded, both sides had chances to take three points with Rabone and Rid both going close. Week St. Mary looked most likely to grab a winner and Major had Lake to thank for a fine late save. After a searching long ball a last minute winner for the away team almost materialised, only to be thwarted by a marginal offside decision. There was still time for a frustrated Cartwright to launch into a very poor challenge at the end of the match, with the referee calling time on a fascinating battle that put the brakes on Major's fine home winning streak.

Despite the disappointment, it turned out to be a well-earned point given that closest rivals St. Austell and Pelynt both suffered defeats.

Newquay Logs and Coal Man of the match - Adam Weller.

Wadebridge Town 2 1 Camelford

Game of two halves here an experienced wadebridge

team two up at half time after a severely lack lustre

showing from the camels. Both teams had their chances

with wadebridge taking theirs and the camels hitting the

post.Second half saw Camels comeback strong with it

all going their way and dominated the second phase.

Fergus Lessels got one back after ten minutes with a lo

cross/shot (delete as appropriate), and were awarde a

penalty which was well saved shortly after.Wadebridge

were solid enough to see out the result but draw would have

probably been the right result.Even if we had the chances to win it,

but thats football.

St Mawgan 2 Calstock 2

Todays game was played in very windy conditions and mawgan play the pitch very well, credit to both teams who at times played some nice football when the chance was there, mawgan did have some very good chances to win the game but credit to calstocks keeper who again pulled off some great saves i would say with chances calstock had a draw was a fair result its a game of two halfs and are first season in the prem and we are holding our own, great food after the game and looking forward to playing mawgan again good bunch of lads.

Biscovey 4-1 Premier Sixes

Not a good day for Oldander and Ben Currah to be missing as P6 faced the best team we have probably ever played in our time in the Duchy league. A game plan to stifle seemed to work as Josh Mitchell gave us a first half lead. Mike Wray was then on the receiving end of a studs up tackle which left him injured. A corner 30 seconds later was scored as the man the injured Wray would have marked flicked the ball on for Biscovey to equalise 2 minutes before half-time. It was one way traffic in the second half as makeshift P6 midfield couldn't keep the same shape. The second Biscovey goal took the wind from our sails (flukiest assist i have seen this season), the third was a screamer and the 4th came in the last couple of minutes as we were pushing forwards. Despite what any other team in the division may think, we are all battling for second place as these guys may not drop points again this season.

Boscastle v Foxhole

Why do people write such 'rubbish biased' reports on the Duchy Site ??? It is just bitter.

The ref had a good game today, he has played football and understands what happens on the pitch, maybe your supporters, manager and players should learn to keep their thoughts to themselves. We all have had refs who make poor decisions but dont go verbally abusing them and trying to control them. You had alot of decisions given to you today, he played advantage then bought it back for free kicks. Your player was lucky to stay on the pitch after being the last man and tripping the Foxhole striker up as he tried to turn him. As for your player being sent off, you should know that if you raise your hands to a player you should be sent off simple ! He was already on a yellow,so of course he is going to be sent, after being sent away he then comes back from the changing room mouthing off. We had players booked, you had a penalty so the ref obviously wasnt that bad !

All aside thank you for the food back at the pub and cant wait for the return match.

Well done Foxhole, well deserved 3 points.

Good luck with the rest of your season.

Boscastle 2 - Foxhole 4 - an away win for foxes today. The game was played in windy conditions. Foxes game plan went well from the start with Foxes having a fair much of the play. Foxes reward came after 20mins when Phil 'fimble' James was played in by Sam Leaney for Phil to lob the keeper to net to make it 1nil, Foxes had to defend well in the next 20mins to keep Boscastle at bay with the high winds against Foxes.

Foxes were awarded a free kick 25yrds out, after Aydan Rundle was brought down whilst heading goal bound last man defending Aron Washer, Foxes thought that Washer would go with a red, but the ref went with a yellow. Rundle stepped up for the free kick, on his debut for this season to fire the ball in goal bound, back post for only Boscastle right back to head into his own net.

Foxes carryed on with some decent defending to try and keep castle at bay with foxes against the high winds, but 5 mins before half time Castle were rewarded for there preasure when there left winger was aloud to shot from 20yds and... found the target. Half time score 2-1 to foxes

.

Second half foxes know that the wind should benefit us and allow us to play some football. We played some neat football but was dealt a blow when a pen was awarded against us 15mins in for Castle to put away. At 2-2 we know we had a game on our hands.

Minutes later castle were reduced to 10 men after a second yellow for Washer grabbing Nathan Lee around the throat with both hands. Mins later Foxes scored to make it 3-2 scored by Tom Grylls hit right foot and bent it in to the top right corner. Foxes took controll of the game having the most of the better play, goal number 4 came with 10 mins to go an Aydan Rundle cross to find Sam Leaney for leaney to shot and saved by the keeper for the ball to comeback to Sam for Sam to side foot into the path of Joe Warren, who netted from close range with his RIGHT FOOT. Foxes thought they had scored a 5 when Nathan Lee headed home, only to be ruled off side. Shortly before the end Foxes sub keeper Mike 'Sweeter' Sweet was forced to make a good save tipping onto the crossbar for Joe Warren to clear of the line.

The game finished 4-2 to Foxhole. A game that was a big game for both teams, Foxhole deserved the 3 points.

.

FOXES MAN OF THE MATCH - Samuel Smitch Mitchell his best game to date, this lad is growing in confidence and is becoming the player we know that he could be. Some excellent defending, looking comfortable on the ball and now looking to find feet.

Many thanks to Boscaslte for after match food and on the whole a nice bunch of lads. Cheers lads see you on the return and all the best.

i have no complaints with our player being sent off and he shouldn't of shoved player after the player kick out at him, and to get straight red for a push was hash 2nd yellow then fine but as it was straight red then foxholes no9 should have had a red for the kick and while were on about the no9 he also went in studs showing and over the ball about 15 mins after and that went unpunished so feel he was lucky to stay on the pitch !! i thought the game was fairly even in 1st half even though for long spell we peg foxhole back with the wind at our backs only for them to hit us on the break with long ball over the top for 1st which was a great finish by the foxhole striker, then the ref missed foul on our player on half way which lead to a cracking though ball were our centerhalf got caught going across striker path which yes did stop him going clear and was just as accidental as your no17, 2 footed slip earlier in the half so thought yellow was about right and from resulting free kick an own goal where our keeper should have call for it as there was no danger, the we got our goal from some good build up play and great left foot finish 2-1 half 2nd half the incident from earlier with 47 mins on the clock, were down to ten and thought we were better team for 20 mins and got our deserved equaliser from a stone wall pen then felt we ran out of steam with the man advantge foxhole kept plugging away and got thre 2 goals in last 15 that got them the 3 points no problem with that and good luck to them for rest of season !!! my opinon on ref still stands thought he should have sent your no9 off at same time as our player also whilst dealing with that incident there was a another incident involving foxhole n8 and our no14 where words were said and no8 shoved him so think that would be raising hands too , also felt far to many soft yellow for both teams one at end of game for foxhole player who kick ball away end of the day which all ref had to do was have a word ,

bit harsh about the grab around the throat more of a shove after being kicked out at by foxholes no9 but thought both should have gone and also no9 had a rash studs showing tackle about 15 mins after over top of ball so was very lucky to be on pitch also we were down to 10 after 47 mins so equalised when down to 10 and though we were on top till we ran out of staem being a man short the foxhole got there desevered win !! wish you good luck with rest of the season looking forward to rematch

better performance all round from st dennis n no bookings especially as it cost us £90 last week!! cant complain bout the ref as he done a steady job n let the game flow.

good luck 2 st dom 4 the rest of the season.

Another great result for St Dominick and their new management team. This was a great game to watch, played out by 2 teams that battled to the end, as stated in the previous post about the game, if you take your chances you scores goals and win games. Both teams could of scored 5 or 6 goals each, but both keepers made vital saves at key times. St Dennis played some good football and upset the free flowing football that St Dominick have played in recent weeks, however we showed our battling quality and Jon Savigar's 2nd half hat-trick was a result of that battling. Hopefully we (St Dominick) can keep this run going and keep the pressure on the teams above. Good look to St Dennis for the rest of the season, they have a great bunch of lads there.

Bere Alston 4 - 1 Pelynt

Great result for Bere who are building up momentum and building strong as a team. Far play to Pelynt who gave us a tough game, will be up there with us near end of season.

Pelynt could of took the lead when awarded a harsh penalty but Bere keeper Rawlings pulled off the save of the season to tip the ball around post when it was heading top right. That spurred some flair into beres gameplay and they upped there performance and took the lead when a great ball from Claridge was headed in at the back post from top goalscorer Robins who also grabbed another just before halftime. Pelynt were awarded another penalty a few minutes into 2nd half after a clumsy challange from Claridge and dispite Rawlings getting his hand to it, the power was too strong and Pelynt were back in the game. Bere fought right back and 5 minutes later Smalley shot in his 3 goal in 2 games to restore Beres 2 goal lead. Wheeler made it 4-1 and Robins missed his chance to get his 1st hat trick at the club when his penalty hit the crossbar.

Big win against a promotion rival and bere will be looking to get another win against Polperro next weekend!
