RobinVanParkway
No. 9 Do you happen to know the severity of the injury to Mark. I ask as a fomer Gaffa of his when he played in the DJM for woolwell juniors. A top lad from a great family. I know this was one of his first games back from breaking his leg last season, so obviously I'm devastated for him. Any info would be appreciated. John Mead
I have been informed that Mark has undergone a 3 hour operation at Treliske and the medical team are pleased with the outcome. The injury came exactly 52 weeks after a similar break last season and would appear to have been in the same place - near the growth plate at the top of the tibia. At 17, Mark's bones are still growing and this area does not fully calcify until growth stops. Extremely unfortunate for it to happen twice. No blame what-so-ever on the Witheridge lad, there was no direct contact between the players - Mark's momentum and the ball did the damage. fire2396
From all at Witheridge FC we hope for a speedy recovery as you dont like to see any player suffer an injury like this let alone twice in 12 months. Get well soon.
