SWPL Results, 5th November

Much better. 1-0 for most of the game and we squandered two really good chances to make it 1-1.

The last 3 goals came in the last 10 minutes or so and 4-0 really flattered Parkway.

Radio Truro Rugby City reporter stated that the Blazey defending was 'suicidal', 'Parkway were queuing to take potshots at the Blazey goal'. All depends on your own point of view I suppose.

Not the case at all. St Blazey matched Parkway for much of the 90 minutes today.

Falmouth 4 Cullompton 1 ht 1-1 att.134

Mark Vercesi 3 (3 penalties)........ Lloyd Gardner

Matt Drummond

Does any one recollect if this has been done before in the Peninsula League or any level of Cornish Football?

Three penalties and all of them stonewallers! Rangers did well for the first half hour but Town ran out worthy winners in the end. Eleven wins on the bounce now. Great stuff.

Mark scored 11 penalties last season and 8 this season-I dont think he has missed any.

Todays hat trick was either side of the keeper and one high.-

Was that correct Frank ?-you were behind the goal

I think that's right Mike, although I was up by the crib hut for the first. ;) Am I right in thinking Chessy scored seven consecutive goals for Town...the last versus Liskeard, the hat-trick at Tavy, and the first three today?

Falmouth V Cullompton

This was a game of two half's Cullompton were by far the better team in the first half & fully deserved to take the lead, they never allowed Falmouth to settle down into their normal style of play, Falmouth got a penalty just before half time,to draw level

The seconed Half Falmouth took full control of the game right from the start,

Which no doubt frustrated the Cullompton players,

who decided to get physical. & started to go in hard on the Falmouth Players One town player was taken out off the ball, two more penalties were to follow one by the Cullompton Goal keeper who should have been sent off, but the ref from Helston who always has a bad game when he comes to Falmouth just booked him much to the anger of the Falmouthj supporters

It was a pity really because Cullompton played so well in the first half, & in the end they gave away the game which for them could well have been a different result had they kept their heads.

Hammers :c::clapper: :c:

I thought we began to assert ourselves after about half an hour and actually could have scored two more after the penalty equaliser.

Matt Drummond coming on to partner Ian Hodges up front for the second half made a big difference. We also didn't have Darren Hicks on the park first half.

I did post the query on the T K site and apparently a Fareham Town player has scored a penalty hat trick this season

interestingly someone remembers a Mark Vercesi (and his brother) playing for Erith & Belvedere F.C.-London Borough of Bexley during thae last decade.

Its got to be the same person-University perhaps?

Mike, ask him about the one he missed for St Blazey in the last minute of the SWL League Cup Final a few years ago!! If he doesn't remember it I have it on DVD and he's welcome to have a copy!!
