Newquay AFC - Official Statement

Recommended Posts

Alan's a PE Teacher at Callington and works alongside Glynn with the Cornwall Schools U-16 team.

He's played at Launceston for a few years but importantly has his UEFA B qualification and is an excellent coach. Jim and Alan will have a great input into the younger players at Newquay and help make their transition into adult football an excellent experience.

Newquay AFC announce the Combo side management team for 2011/12, Chairman Peter Butterley was delighted to confirm that Jim Hilton & Alan Yendall had agreed to run the clubs reserve side for next season.

Is this a safety net for when Mr Mewton pulls all his money out.

What money is that then ?

I always thought his wife held the purse-strings in that household. Mewton has not put any money into the club, although I'm sure if he did, the continuing ground improvements would benefit. All sponsorship income this season will go into the Grounds, a fair amount has already been spent on the pitch this summer - any funds raised by commercial ventures will help with petrol expenses. It is a simple and idealistic way of doing things, one that can only help the club going forward. There will be no big time charlies draining the club of money, we simply do not have any to drain.

The club are organising a Golf Day this Sunday, places @ £25 per individual are still available, Teams of 4 can enter at £100. Includes bacon sarnies, spot prizes etc, contact 01637 874354.

Sat 9th July. Auction of Goods and donations in the Clubhouse, viewing from 5pm, auction starts 7.30pm.

Sat 20th August @ The Circus Big Top, opp Morrisons, Newquay. Newquay AFC Presents, Bootleg Abba, Neon Luv Chicken and Freddy Zapp in a 70's Disco retro night of fun and stuff. tickets £12.50 from the Circus box office.

So there you have it, just some of the events being help to raise funds, no sugar daddy, no Russians/Arabs/Yanks or crooked businessmen with an eye on the land. Just hard working committee and supporters trying to revive the club.

So we have gone from Newquay Reserves to the SAD LAST PARAGRAPH

One consolation, we won't see any of them BRAWLING ON THE TERRACES.

People in glass houses and all that goes with it.

Nemesis - JUDGE YOUR OWN ACTIONS (Remember we saw the photographs on these forums.

Dear Mountaineer.

Newquay Reserves will be playing on the best pitch in the best ground in the Combo League, they will be managed by Jim Hilton & Alan Yendall. Fundraising applies to all of the 30 Newquay AFC teams that may play at Mount Wise at some point over the season, some of the events have been listed here.

As for the personal snipe, not a problem for me, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, some are worth more than others.

Enjoy your season, I certainly will.

Judge you have got some surprises coming your way if you honestly believe that people like Mr Ludlum play the game for the love of it,ask penzance two years ago Falmouth last year, they don't give two hoots about your club OR ??????

Not a single player has come for money, we do not have any. They want to play for Glynn and Trevor at one of Cornwalls best grounds, in front of the best fans, and on a great surface. Things may change in the future but that depends on fundraising.

I note that there has not been a single rumour of so and so being offered £###### by the club, speaks volumes that.
