Willser !
Polperro 3-1 Bude Division 1 outfit Polperro overcame Premier league side Bude in a high tempo affair at Camelford Football Club. The opening exchanges were tight with only a couple of long shots well handled by the opposing keepers. The game sprang to life when Bude broke down the right and the ball was squared to a Bude striker who hit it towards goal only to be handled by Polperro's Will Glassup, the ref produced a red card and a penalty on 26mins. Polperro keeper Mike Rickard produced a stunning save to keep the game level. Polperro found a new lease of life with just 10 men and it was George Saada who opened the scoring with a deflected shot from 12 yards on 35mins, this stayed the same until the interval. Bude come out strongly in the 2nd half but couldn't find a way past a resolute defence and on 66mins, young Zack Peel broke through the Bude defence and put Polperro in a commanding 2-0 lead. The lead was short lived as only 2 mins later Bude pulled one back when they struck the crossbar only for the rebound to fall to he striker for a simple tap in. Bude piled on the pressure with Polperro's legs tiring, but it was Polperro who extended their lead on 80mins when Robbie Spencer fed Dave Gilbert who scored from close range to give Polperro a 3-1 lead and the Supplementary Cup. Well done to Bude who played their part in the final, who perhaps underestimated the young Polperro team.
