Pitty
St Ives 1-3 Holman sc Att 50 Holmans ended the season on a high with a 1-3 win at the saltings. Both sides had players missing but the match was a good spirited competitive affair. Holmans took the lead on the 20th min when some good passing between Adam Selley and Marcus smith found Tony eddy on the edge of the 18yd box and his shot found the back of the net. St Ives rallied and the visitors required the defensive skills of Scott Thomas & Jason blight at the heart of the defence to prevent st Ives levelling the scores. Ht 0-1 Their must have been something added to the orange juice provided to holmans at half time as we played really awful for 15min and st Ives kept up the pressure and were finally awarded with a penalty following a Jason blight trademark "kungfu breakdance styley" tackle. The st Ives goalkeeper (who I think normally plays upfront) rushed up to take it didn't really compose himself and promptly hit the crossbar. 5 min later against the run of play Marcus smith broke down the right wing passed the ball across the 6yd box finding rob Hosking with a simple tap in to take a 0-2 lead. Squeaky bum time for the visitors when St Ives were finally rewarded with a goal from a corner to take the score to 1-2 but Marcus smith sealed the 3 points in the 85th min scoring from a ridiculous tight angle on the goal line from the right hand side (looked like a cross that went in but Marcus hardly passes so it was probably a shot the jammy bugger . ) Full time 1-3 Nice to finish on a high after some frustrating results over the season although I'm sure boredom will set in within 2 weeks and we will all be wishing for pre season training to start!!! Pez8
Porthleven scorers were Neil Southall,Nick Perry X2 and Harry Bardsley. It should have been more than 4 but ludgvan never gave in and their keeper made a few goods saves especially in the last minute when he took a Jamie Gray piledriver straight in the nuts!!! Harry_Breasbats
Mitch, For the first time all season Sid has been fortunate enough to have every memeber of the squad available! With 8 servicemen in the team you need a big squad as you know. I Must add Jon Tonkin and Mark Wood are both injured before Tonks gets in trouble at work! Also as we were getting presented with the League winners medals the whole squad was assembled to collect. Good times! Take care Chris
