FHFL 2

Culdrose 8 - 0 Troon

Great conditions down at Culdrose tonight albeit the pitch is like concrete. Easy win for Culdrose but credit to Troon for trying to play football to the final whistle. Running around in the sunshine was thirsty work and lead to the softest yellow card I have seen all season. With a break in play Gregg stepped off the pitch to drink from a bottle, the ref saw him and booked him, where is the common sense in that?

Anyway Culdrose goals came from Jamie Medlin (towering header!), Lee Glover, Ivan, Chris Wells and 4 for Ryan Leavsey.

FHFL 2

Holman Sports Club 4-5 Trispen

Trispen's goals coming from Dave Rogers, Simon Cole (x2), Corey Cleave and Joe Carlyon. Special mention to Dave Dodd for his late double penalty saves.

Good luck to Holmans for their remaining games.

Veteran dave Dodd??

Did he save two or double save from one penalty??

I'm sure he won't appreciate being called veteran but you're thinking of the right guy. One penalty award but saved two due to the ref ordering that the first one be retaken due to encroachment despite players from both sides advancing into the box before the penalty was taken.

Terry Jennings Cup final

Falmouth Athletic 4-2 Mullion

Athletic scorers: Tim Hurrel, Jay Durber and Ben Kellow (2)

Athletic completed a league and cup double in a pretty 1 sided cup final, Mullion only having 2 or 3 chances and Athletic having our usual bucket load and not scoring, Mullions keeper having a blinder keeping the score down. Mullion took an early lead with out keeper rushing out miss timing his run and the ball ended up over his head and in. We started pushing for an equaliser and it came after a fine finish from outside the box by Tim. Mullion got another after we left a runner go from midfield for him to run through 1 on 1 to slot home. We got another equaliser after a bit of play in the midfield ended with Jay flicking in at the front post. Ben got the goal that put us in front after a good run and finish, half time 3-2. The second half was 1 way traffic with us pushing for the goal to kill the game off, limiting Mullion to few openings while controlling the game going forward. We even had the luxury of Donut missing a penalty before Ben beat the keeper from the edge of the box with minutes to go. Mullion played well but over all the better side won, credit to Mullion as most of them stayed for a couple beers afterwards
