troon 2 - 4 porthleven

Port scorers were nick Perry 2, Neil Southall and Stu Robinson

Caught the second half, entertaining to watch, Nick Perry's second goal was a beauty bit of skill, dink over the defender, then dink over the keeper and headed in.

Troon played well getting the ball wide and putting lots of dangerous crosses in but just couldn't find the strikers

Mullion scorers: Sean Mills, Rob Carey, Lee Cattran and Darren Meagor.

Only real controversy was when St.Days centre back clearly stamped on Mullions forward which was not nice to see and Mullion player lucky to avoid injury. Dont think the ref saw the stamp or else it would have been a straight red. Other than that ref had a good game. Strange that Mullion dont have a fixture for the 2 of the saturdays coming up but during mid May have a week of games on Tues, Thurs and Sat!

The ref had a very good game and it was nice to see him let the game flow and tackle the language.

Sean Haskell-Mills got the goal for Mullion.

Great first half from Mullion whose quick tempo and short passing was undoing the St. Day defence. First Goal, came through a great cross by Graham Cook from midway in the St. Day half, the keeper came to claim it, but missed the ball and Darren Meagor was unmarked at the back post to nod the ball in. Second goal came through Sean Haskell-Mills, who rected quickest to a ricochet in the box and turned to smash the ball past the St. Day keeper. Mullion had a number of chances to increase the lead in the 1st half, and should have led by at least 4 at the interval.

2nd half Mullion started slowly, however St. Day never really troubled Tom Collins in the Mullion Goal. I can only remember 1 save he had to make. Harry Spraggett and Graham Cook were solid at the back for Mullion and looked very assured together. 3rd goal came ffrom great work by Keith Jacka and Rob Carey, who fired a low cross into the box, which was controlled and volleyed past the keeper by Lee Cattran. The fourth and final goal was scored shortly after the 3rd. Joe Lugg won a free kick which Harry Spraggett played a short to Rob Carey who brushed off a strong challenge rode another and fired the ball low past the keeper which struck the inside of the post on the way in.

Mullion Man of the Match - Rob Carey, fantastic work rate throughout creating chances for others and fully deserved his goal to top off the performance.

Holman's scorers were Rob Press to put Holmans 1-0 up early on. Then Marcus Smith "beat" the offside trap to pull one back to 2-3 but it wasn't enough. Both sides looking a lot weaker than they were on Saturday. The Pendeen lads/fans are a good bunch and the game was played in good spirit. Good luck to Pendeen on Sunday.

Holman sc 2-3 pendeen

Att 20

Holmans scored 4 of the 5 goals tonight unfortunately poor rob Hopkins who actually had a good solid game at the heart of the defence ended up scoring 2 og's. Some good passing play from both sides made it quite an entertaining fixture with holmans taking the lead through rob press scoring his 2nd goal in 2 games who produced a quality first touch following an excellent through ball from Jacob kemp. Holmans looked to be going into half time with a 1 goal lead until the ball hit rob Hopkins on his big nose on the edge of the 18yd box and then flew high in the air over keeper ben Minns head

Ht 1-1

Holmans skipper Jason blight was still trying to shake off an ankle injury which would ultimately end his match early and man mark the lively wade brown when pendeen managed to take the lead 2-1 through wade as Jason struggled to deal with a cross. Both sides had chances in the 2nd half but pendeens 3rd came from a cross which Hopkins tried to reach in a "butch Cassidy and the sundance kid last stand styley" the ball unfortunately glanced off his head into the net. Holmans never gave up though and ben Gadsdon, Adam Freethy and Simon lavis continued to work hard to find a gap in the pendeen defence which was finally successful in the 80th min when Marcus smith ran through to put the ball around the keeper

Full time 2-3

Good friendly bunch from pendeen and we wish them luck in the league cup final on Sunday

Holmans Chances of being out of the bottom 2 look slim now as they require at least 3 wins in their final 4 league matches. This saturday in the final home fixture for holmans 1st team is the supp cup QF against hayle 2:30 kick off

Illogan 3 St.Agnes 1 h/t 2-1

Thadeus Vingoe gave the visitors the lead after indecision in the home defence and they were the better team throughout the first half with Dan O'Toole a constant threat down the left. Two goals by Phil Willey gave Illogan a half time lead they did not deserve as they badly missed Jason Roberts and Simon Ellis.

Ian Cullingham headed in corner five minutes into the second half and it was hard for St.Agnes to break down the strong home defence from there on.

Very well reffed by Kevin Knowles.

Att - 75.
