Helston 3-0 Newquay

Jason Robertson

Helston made 6 changes to the team that put 6 past Culdrose last week. Not the best game to watch in the cold but 3 more points and a clean sheet.

Sid now has a headache with selection for the next couple weeks with Joe Perrin, Phil Black, Shaun 'Fez' Parker, Nige Thwaites, Liam Eddy and Possibly Ashlet Stidwell all avialable for selection.. Its looking good!! I wonder how many people out there would love to have that selection problem!

Best of luck lads and i'll see you all on May 10th for the last few games and to get my double winners medal.

Town scorers Daniel Knowles, Luke Wort & Chris Morris. Could and should have been double figures!!

should have!!!! but the town couldnt finish for toffee today

nice to see my old pals worty and greety playing for falmouth today

looks like they are trying to catch me up in the belly department though!!

funniest one was when the town captain decided to call me a dwarf when stood next to me and exactly the same height as me!!!

if he had called me fat i would have agreed!!! lol

Culdrose 3 - 3 St Just

A fantastic game for the neutrals pity there weren't any about. With Culdrose 2nds called off I thought I would watch the 1st team receive the spanking everyone was expecting. Game was an even affair until just before half time when the St Just captain was sent off for threatening his own team mate with some colourful language, the start of the 2nd half saw another St just player dismissed an horrendous stamp on a Culdrose player. 11-9 you would think Culdrose would take control but even at 3-2 up they never really had full control and with a few seconds of injury time left st just equalised. Must credit St Just they kept battling til the end, would like to also add that the ref had a shocker and in fairness St just could of finished with far less than 9. Two footed lunges and intentional elbows went unpunished even though ref spotted them (please don't dive in two footed was one of his comments!) also Steve Curnow (think that's his name) on the sidelines disgraced his club by threatening most of the Culdrose fans to a fight and calling them names with women and kids looking on.

As a neutral at the penryn pendeen game, was very scrappy affair with pendeen taking their chances well done!

What shocked me, was the penryn centre midfielders, young lads with a real attitude. Not towards pendeen but towards there own manager and also the captain (kirk i think his name). Telling the manager at one point to shut up and stop shouting! Now these two young lads should maybe be put on tbe pitch with a few old heads that would knock that attitude straight out of them. now not to name and shame because they were actually quite good on the ball keegan was one and not sure the other lads name but remember seeing the captain say he was going to go far with that attitude( well said!!)

i thought more of you than that chris mate. the game was very entertaining with some very good football played in between the handbags and one bad incident. the ref sent me off for the 'colourful language' yet there was another 21 players out there all of whom swore at one point or another, wheres the consistency?? although saying that i thought the ref dealt with the fouls very well and kept up with the game very well. i would like to make an apology from myself on behalf of the team as captain of the st just side to culdrose and they're manager scooby and i wish them all the best for the rest of the season

RNAS Culdrose 3-3 St Just

Culdrose goalscorers were Paul Curry and Steven Hughes(2). Attendance was approximately 25, saw Baz counting so he will give a more accurate number?

A blood and guts affair in which unlike November's tie we refused to be bullied out of it. Referee had his work cut out really and in fairness did his best to keep a lid on a very intimidating atmosphere from all quarters! Neil Curnow and Jon Bird both sent off for St Just and that may cost them dearly, we came from behind twice and lead 3-2 with 11 against 9 (we actually played our worst football with a 2 man advantage)but the 9 men took advantage of a bit of a mix up at the back and equalised with the last kick of the game. Our lads played some great football in periods. It was an old fashioned combo game in which emotions spilled over at times understandably.

I commend both sets of players and supporters however who left any ill-feeling or emotions on the pitchside and socialised as usual afterwards at the bar.

Nothing wrong with a bit of attitude, but their actions have led to one of their team wandering whether to give up footie. :angry2: :ninja:

Unfortunately that doesnt suprise me. I agree a little attitude is good, but to be arguing with your manager and captain both who have a wealth of experiance in local football, with these two young boys clearly thinking they are something special. Showing my age but 10 years ago you wouldnt dream of being the youngster in the team and speaking out of turn without one of the old boys telling you where to go!! Its the second time ive watched penryn this season and although a young team think maybe they are missing a few hard heads that can back up the captain! paul kneebone would have told those boys what for!!!

Pendeen really holding there own since making the jump from fhfl1.
