retired for now Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 DIV 1 Constantine 1-3 Fal Athletic Well done to the Tine for battling. A good performance from such a young team. Not a lot of difference footballing wise on todays showing but athletic out muscled Tine in the end
mouser Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 div 2 rnas culdrose 1 stithians 3. this was 1 of the most gutted games to come away from after 90 mins for any of the culdrose team. stithians played well but culdrose played better and should of scored more than just the 1 goal. they hit the bar a bad miss from a header at the back post and a few other shots that any other day would of gone in meant they were 2-1 down till right at the end when stithians caught us on the break and finished a great game of football off. best of luck to stithians for the rest of the season.

Cheers for a tough game Mouser. Yeah, we started well and took an early 2-0 lead against the wind. The rest of the half Culdrose pressed and pulled one back though we should have had another 1 or 2 in the first half. Second half was all Culdrose, but Stithians battled hard to maintain their lead and made it a comfortable last couple of minutes with a late third Stithians Scorers - Ryan Hall, Treve Bale, Matt Metcalfe Best of luck to Culdrose also for the season
Jamie C Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 Wheatly Cobb Cup! 23/10/2010 Carharrack Res 3 - 1 Ruan Minor Carharrack took the lead after Ben Cox was brought down in the area and Antony Vargas cooly dispatched the penalty 1-0. Then Ruan had a chance to draw level with a deflected shot but for Jamie chown making a last second dive at his far post to tip it round for a corner. carharack stemmed alot of pressure from ruan playing against the wind but half time came 1-0 carharrack. The second half was a different story with carharrack straight out the blocks and Ben cox seized a defensive error to make it 2-0. With 15 minutes left and ruan pushing carharrack counter attacked with Ben Cox sliding home for his 2nd and carharrack made it 3-0. Ruan were given hope with 10 minutes to go with a superb freekick from 20 yards making it 3-1. But it seemed to little to late. Carharrack Through 3-1 full time. I believe its stithians or hayle in the next round for carharrack. Goal scorers: Antony Vargas pen Ben Cox 2. Ruan : ??? Unknown. Carharrack are playing like a team willing to die for there trophy to keep it in the cabinet for another year! well played ruan good game very much enjoyed and thanks to the lads who came back for a pint after the game! Best of luck for the season!!!

kaskay Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 yes it was a tough game down at the lizard we had numerous chances wasted but we never gave up like to say a great performance by scott sloth roberts who played out of his skin at the back a real pleasure to play in the same side

marc richards Posted October 23, 2010 Report Posted October 23, 2010 FHFL 2 Holmans 1 - Helston 0 Well deserved victory by the home side. Helston have nothing to complain about at all! Well beaten by second from bottom side... If you come with the attitude to win before you kick the ball - you've won nothing!
Deano Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 Percy Stephens Cup Perranwell 2 Chacewater 2 aet 1-1 at 90 mins Perranwell won on penalties. Very hard fought game, with both sides battering each other, which at times over spilled, due to a incompetent "ref" !! Chacewater are a improving side which will be hard to beat!! Perran were indebt to their young goalkeeper in the shoot out saving 2 outta 3, and young Quaid Saunder scoring the winning peno!!!
Jeff Stelling Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 FHFL Div 3 Mullion 3rds 0 West Cornwall Res 2 (HT 0-1) Very scrappy game contested in pretty bad conditions (Although I'm guessing you boys are used to it down there). We had the wind in the first half so much of the first 45 was contested in the Mullion half, we played right into their hands though by over hitting a lot of long balls that were carried by the wind. We played some stuff on occasion but this game was all about grinding out the 3 points as neither team were going to get a chance to play football. We finally got off the mark towards the end of the first half. Second half Mullion had the wind and more possession and created 1 or 2 half chances, our keeper pulling off a particularly good save from a point blank header. We kept battling and on a couple of occasions a fairly poor ref let the game boil over, one from a bad tackle from our CM who saw yellow but it could of easily been red for an ill timed lunge on a very slippy surface. The second was a straight red for the Mullion keeper after a ridiculous kick out at our striker despite being in control of the ball. We added a second soon after and the 3 points were wrapped up. Thanks to the Mullion lads who let us use the main showers after the match and put on plenty of sausages and chips back in their club house. See you later in the season where hopefully less wind will mean we can play some football.

bushy Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 Frogpool 2-2 Penryn penryn scorers were chris wood on his return to the club and Ross hayden, 2pts dropped we were all over them 2nd half but couldn't score, I think the ref thought he was simon cowell as he was very arrogant
SimonL Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 Does anybody know who the names of the scorers in Penryn's match with Perranporth. Thanks Simon
someone Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Where did woody go? hey patch you are still around how are you old buddy?
patch Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Really good thanks mr someone! Yourself?
skeletor Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Patch, are you the grumpy midfielder from mawnan that looks about 40?
le boss Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 FHFL 2 Holmans 1 - Helston 0 Well deserved victory by the home side. Helston have nothing to complain about at all! Well beaten by second from bottom side... If you come with the attitude to win before you kick the ball - you've won nothing! Thats what i love about small clubs with small minds - they can win or lose with such dignity. Helston lost but "well beaten"? I watched the game and it was only a lack of composure in front of goal that cost them - but hey - good luck in the next round
someone Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 No that's damian fine thanks patch and yes Damo is the oldest but at least he stays on the pitch for 90 minutes, loved it when you were man marked by the ref!!

Thats what i love about small clubs with small minds - they can win or lose with such dignity. Helston lost but "well beaten"? I watched the game and it was only a lack of composure in front of goal that cost them - but hey - good luck in the next round Hmmmm From what I gather Helston were such sporting losers not one player came into the clubhouse following the match!!!! LeBoss I don't know if you are attached to Helston but what Mark was trying to convey was that he felt the away side had arrived with an attitude that they had already won before the ball had been kicked due to Holmans lowly league position. Clearly a good competitive fixture was played with the home side progressing to the next round with the narrowest margin possible which was probably against current form. Small club small mind...no!!! Last time i looked both Helston & Holmans have the same amount of teams in the same leagues with good youth sections Marks post is from a good clubman proud of a little success after a poor run of results so grow up and dont take it to heart!!
