you must be mad!!! head towards Helston and keep going, right through, you can't miss it! go past the men with guns on the entrance to Culdrose and its up on the brow of the hill on the right hand side!! take a coat, preferrably wind proof.

Dan no joke.

Take a wind proof jacket, warm clothing, emergency blanket, etc. Culdrose, St Just and Mullion are the worst places in the combo for the cold wind.

Small clubhouse that serves hot drinks, with alcoholic beverages after the match. Small open stand to sit in.

Say hello to Paul Hoskin the Culdrose manager from me or Jamie Marles the Troon manager.

Should be a good game to watch if you can stay warm.

Once you are past the main entrance to Culdrose, drive on for 3/4 mile. On your right hand side is a turning up a small road. Grounds are on the left through gate just onto that road. If you hit a roundabout you've gone too far, turn around, come back 200yds to turn left, then onto grounds.

Thanks gents.

I think I got lucky with both St Just and Mullion.

St Just was at the start of January I seem to remember, and there was ice on the pitch in places, but no wind. The sun setting over the Scillies probably made it my favourite groundhopping experience to date (the footie was OK, as well!)

Mullion was on a pleasant evening towards the end of last season.

As far as I can see, most grounds in West Cornwall are windswept and therefore freezing, because this is the only place flat ground can be found in many parts. I got really caught out at Troon one pre-season. Left a pleasant St Austell in shorts only to spend the evening freezing my ******** off!

I absolutely love the Combination Legaue and will be sad when I have completed my 5 remaining grounds and have no further reason (without the luck of the senior cup draw) to watch Combo league footie.
