Probus 8-2 St Colomb Major

Scorers

Luke Rose

John Penhaligon

Mark Bishop

Chris Shackley 4 (2nd half substitue)

Martin Bishop

Probus started with a bang when a tame Martin Bishop freekick deflected off Luke Rose into the net. Probus then conceded two sloppy goals including a strange header from James Oakley into his own net. John Penhaligon then pulled Probus level with a powerful header from a corner. Moments later Liam Paddock released Mark Bishop who slotted home confidently to give Probus a deserved lead at half time.

The second half saw Chris Shackley introduced for Liam Paddock and he went about changing the outcome scoring 4 goals in a 45 minute cameo. One of which an extremely well taken one on one. Probus still had time for one more when a James Oakley cross was met by Martin Bishop to nod home impressively. The scoreline didnt flatter the home team who are starting to put together a set of performances that will push Probus up the table.

4 yellow cards for Probus and 2 for St Columb including a red card for a serious altercation with the referee made for a difficult afternoon for the officials.

Special mention to the 3 St Mawgan lads who were sporting enough to come back for food.

Foxhole 0 - 6 Bodmin Saints

This game was so evenly contested during the first forty-five minutes; there was nothing between the sides at all. The ref' did a fine job throughout this game.

The teams came out for the second half and nothing happened for ten minutes. Suddenly the visitors exploded into action; first a superb volleyed goal by the ever-improving, Ryan Butler, quickly followed by an opportunist tap-in from Shaun German, a few minutes later Matt Doney scored and his strike was quickly followed by another Butler goal. Dave Jefferies rounded off a great all-round personal performance with two perfect goals and with luck would have had another hat-trick. Well played Foxhole for your first-half performance but undeniably Saints completely swamped you in the second forty-five.

Once again, Puggy Hearne played his heart out and was closely followed by Gareth Stiff for man of the match. Luke Jefferies and Joe Orchard came on cold late in the game and each showed their class. This was a great team performance for Saints.

Pelynt 2-1 Polperro

Pelynt dominated the first half but could only muster a 1-0 half time lead. Polperro came into the 2nd half but ex-polperro player Jon Hill doubled pelynts lead. Dan Goldsworthy rifled in an unstoppable free kick to reduce the arrears but Pelynt hung on for a deserved victory.

CALSTOCK 3 BOSCASTLE 2

Another win under the belts of Calstock. Albeit the scoreline Calstock dominated the game and missed a penalty. boscatle's 1st goal was a very good header from a corner and a last minute weak penalty. Played in good spirit apart from the occassional late challenge constantly by there number 12.

Well done Calstock, long may it continue!!!!

Would like to wish Boscastle all the best for the rest of the season.

you did forget to mention that your chairman was the ref today which is never ideal for the away side even though you are a good team and good luck to you for the season

Hi GETIN,

It was the Vice Chairman who is a qualified ref and this was put to your manager and the secretary were you happy with this arrangement.

It was not us as a club who arranged for him to ref but the ref's appointment officer who was the person that actually phoned you guys. also at the start i spoke to Graham your manager and he again had no problem with it.

So i thought there no need to mention it and he had no bearing on the scoreline and in fact ref'd better than some ref's do with 20yrs in the game!!

Thank you for those king words as i will pass them onto the team..
