spurfect Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Have heard rumours, that new owner John Henry has already done a deal with new sponsers to change the Club,s name and Ground. The team will be named,HUB CAP STEELERS. The ground will be renamed,THE SAN GIRO STADIUM. From the fat, into the fire I think. The team is the problem, not the owners. Cannot buy any players until January,by then it could be to late. :SM_carton:
St Darren Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Spurfect, you really have no idea on what has gone on at Liverpool football club over the last 3 years! the nightmare is over, lets just hope that the future owners will be better than what we have had recently!
spurfect Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Darren, maybe I dont know as much as you. What I do know is that,I am seeing exactly the same things as I did when the first two Yanks took over. Liverpool supporters, celebrating as if they have won the Premiership, singing and dancing,John Henry the saviour. Give me a break. Your team are not good enough, and it will take more than an American sugar daddy to get you out of your mess. Just waiting now,for the U.S.A chants, just like before.
bluestorm Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 How long do you give it before "YANKS OUT" start ringing around Anfield again?
St Darren Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 They'll be out as soon as they start to take away the Liverpool traditions!! Moores and Parry sold to Hicks and Gillett without doing proper research into their background Moores just saw money, so he sold to the highest bidder. This time round, the club have done proper research, Henry has his own money along with other investors, so they're not borrowing from a bank. Beleive me, there's a lot of caution surrounding the whole thing, but when you've gone through the last 3 years of shite that those two have put us through, you have a right to celebrate a change!! but also yes, things on the pitch need to improve, so what better place to start than Woodison Park
Gally Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Look what they did at Boston Red Sox, they are like liverpool when NESV took over a good team but not doing as well in last few years before takeover the only differnece is they didnt have the stupid amounts of debt. Then after a couple of years of developing the cluba nd bringing in the right people look what they did a load of world series etc. Any luck they'll do the same with Liverpool

Goldeneye Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 I understand that Liverpool's new owners were hoping to sign a major sponsorship deal with a pet food manufacturer. However the Premier League will not approved the deal as it would contravene the rules of the Trades Description Act if they were to allow Liverpool to have the name WINALOT across their shirts. :yahoo:
NORTH DEVON DWELLER Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 For Fcuks Sake U idiots don't understand the concept of what nearly happend to Liverpool. Liverpool where a club hours away from going into administration so the sale is a god send. Do you all think we are stupid in the fact that we will now go all season undefeated and win the league. WE KNOW IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPPEN. The new owners have placed no asset debt on the club like Hicks and Gillett did so what we do now know is we have financial stability and still have a club. It's been a very hard time as a Liverpool supporter over the past 3 years and yes we believed the hype that Hicks and Gillett brought with them but do you really think we are going to believe it all again. I think you will find that Liverpool Fans have been burnt once and will not get burnt again. Only action will make Liverpool believe something is going to happen NOT WORDS. I have to be honest after the uncertainty the supporters have been through I would'nt wish this to happen to any club and that includes Man Utd. I know I will probably get it's only a bit of banter shite replies but this wasn't a funny situation at all and whether you all like it or not England's most successful club ever could of easily no longer existed.

Taken from the topice FAO Spurfect When people crack fun and jokes at other clubs, its just a laugh and banter, and everyone should lighten up. Anita had a go at a bit of humour on Tottenham's behalf. I did'nt find much of it funny,in fact Ive heard most of it before. Im sure when the boot is on the other foot, and its your own clubs,it is not so funny. I must apologise that my sense of humour don't reach the high standards of this forum. I am certainly not offended, thats for sure. Just not interested in replying to people joking about my football club. Pot and kettle come to mind here

We are not all idiots and some football fans on here can fully understand what your club has been through because some of us have been through similar experiences Personally I am glad the Liverpool have been saved and hope they continue to build for the future, When I was a kid and football was on terrestrial t.v I was bought up watching without a doubt the best team of its era Only thing I would like to see before you rebuild and become a force again is that my team finally beat you at Anfield :D

Scooby Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 I am amazed at the difference in attitudes and coverage of what has happened at Liverpool to what happened at my club Portsmouth. We had a rich owner in Sacha Gaydamak who bought us with his (or his Dad's as it turned out) money. As I have posted in the past we were a viable healthy club until his father was accused of arms-dealing and asked for the family jewels to be sold off and monies recouped. We did not borrow vast amounts of money, it was our owners money that funded our success in the Fa Cup and got us into Europe. When he decided to not only walk away but take out all the money he had invested plus give us a bill for £68 million. We turned to our bank for support and understanding (ironically Liverpool's current sponsors Standard Bank of South Africa) they in turn stopped our overdraft facility and plunged us into an abyss that we may just may come out of on Tuesday!! We owed HMRC a reported £30m, 17 million of which was disputed? the uproar about us owing tax payers money villified us throughout english football and the supporters took the brunt of that! Liverpool FC owed RBS Bank over £200 million, ie the Taxpayer over £200 million! no uproar from the rest of football for them to stop trading, deadlines put back to allow them to continue trading therefore without a points deduction or administration because it would have looked terrible for the game and FA Premier League for one of the big four to go into administration. Pompey treated like cheats, Liverpool treated like a family heirloom that has been bought back from the pawn-shop. Yes I am bitter about what has happend to my club and feel the FA Premier League are to blame as much as anyone? yes I do feel that it is one rule for the big guns and another for the rest. I am glad we have a club still and are bouncing back in true Pompey spirit, but this has really shown the class divide in the english game between the established big guns and those who aspire. They call it good debt and bad debt? still debt in my eyes. Gillett & Hicks just like Al Fahim & Al Faraj were certainly not fit or proper!
