As posted on the FA Full-time website for the League:-

Madron withdraw team

10/10/10 12:37

Madron have advised the league that they are unable to raise two teams, and therefore their team from the third division is withdrawn.

At a League Management meeting on Friday night it was agreed that Madron should be permitted to withdraw a team from the league. Under League Rules the second team playing in division two is therefore withdrawn and their results will be expunged.

Shocked to read this today, i phoned Mr Davenport shortly after reading this statement, he has heard nothing on the matter as yet and will be getting in contact with Mr Hosking tomorrow.

As far as im aware Mr Davenport sent in a letter saying we were struggling and mentioned that the entire first team from last season has left the club, and if there was anyway we were able to pull the first team out of division 1 if we would continue to struggle.

We were set to try and field two teams next week until we heard this news, the reserve team squad is the same as last year with a few additions and were going well in Division 3. With a mixture of youth and older heads.

The young players are not yet good enough for division 1 and the older players too old now to compete well enough in that division, and just happy to bring on the youngsters and enjoy a game of football on a Saturday.

If the Reserve team have been pulled out and the first team remain in Mining 1, the club will be in serious trouble and will be in jepordy of folding all together!!

I will speak to Mr Davenport tomorrow and issue a statement on here

Mr Davenport has spoken to Mr Osborne over the phone, and he has told him to continue to field 2 teams if he believes he can do so, Madron Res are still in Mining 3, and look forward to playing Trevenson away on Saturday, and the first team home to Robartes in division 1.

Any players of any standard looking for a game on saturday feel free to contact Mr Davenport on: 07853478196
