Newquay Reserves 2 v 0 Falmouth Town Reserves

Att - 58

Jamie Tipton 39mins, Ben Currah 44mins. 2nd half, Falmouth had their keeper sent off for swearing after the ref awarded Newquay a Penalty, Tipton hit the bar ! Another Falmouth player sent off for a two footed airborne challenge. The only two decisions he got right all night, the ref was awful. The Falmouth 14 was booked twice but not shown a red, according to everyone I spoke with. Well done to the 9 men of Falmouth who kept Newquay at bay and attacked well on occasions.

P.S 'Great' to see a few of the culdrose players popping into McDs after the match?!? :SM_carton_y: Not feeling up to enjoying the lovely free platter for players made by Eddie our barman? :ninja: or just plain rude!

Plus there were 3 players, i wonder if it was the same three who got sent off? :SM_carton:

I'm not going to rise to any of the shinanigans of this thread, but i would like to point out that two of the players who were sent off were in the PZ clubhouse after the match and did enjoy a pint and some nice pies.

the third player sent off was too embarrased to go in to the club and rightly so, (i'm still awaiting his appology) the tackle the he made was dispicable and I in no way condone it. I personally went up to some of the players and the manager in the club after the game and appolagised for the players actions.

The ref was 'Porky' and had an excellent game, he was well justified in all of the sending offs. I apolagised to him after the game too.

Penzance fully deserved their win, however they did play worse when we had 8 men and we could have even got a draw in the final few minutes.

I'm not moaning about the tackling. Clumsy more than anything plus the crowd were getting onto the players backs.

Also some of the Pz supporters were getting onto the ref's back. He rightly allowed a few tackles to go by without punishment as it was blokes against young lads who are quite easily knocked off the ball making a tackle look worse than it was.

The book started coming out when the tackles were starting to come in a bit late.

Pz scored early, game was even for long periods, especially second half and once players started seeing red and Culdrose closed up shop they looked stronger on the break than Pz. Pz found it difficult to organise themselves against 10, then 9, then 8 players. Strange.

Remember everyone that Saturday's cup matches now play to a finish on the day so if needed extra time and penalties. Means teams have to go for it from the start.

I wasn't at the game and therefore cannot and will not comment on the conduct of our players on or off the field. Our manager has already said that Mike Carter was fully justified with the decisions he made and possibly could have sent one more off. I am also aware he apologised to the opposition players and officials for the sendings off.

I do find it strange, however, that these threads always come back to tax payer's money? and similar comments of this nature. I just find that rather amusing, not even upsetting just slightly amusing. I hope this is how they are meant? always tickles me.

A player can come home from front line operations and get booked during his R&R time and the tax payer is only concerned about paying the booking? I think not surely?

Maybe national service would negate this lack of understanding?...only joking of course.

Scooby I wouldnt even bother starting that one! Apparently we don't pay tax, when we pay fines it's all everyone else's money, were not allowed to be on anything other active duty and we all have to listen to the comment " And your supposed to be defending our country!"

Only joking of course! Fly Navy! Sleep WE's! :clapper:
