secretscout Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Wadebridge 4-2 St Stephens Borough. A good game on an oustanding playing surface. I was at the game and felt Wadebridge were lucky to win by 2 goals, if at all. Maybe a draw would have been a fair result, some very bad decisions by the home linesman caused a bit of a stir with the away team. But certainly two clubs that will do well this season.

Maybe a draw would have been a fair result, some very bad decisions by the home linesman caused a bit of a stir with the away team. But certainly two clubs that will do well this season. The Wadebridge linesman has made a number of dubious decisions in the games that I have seen him. In one game last year he flagged for offside when a forward had crossed a ball to just inside the penalty area, the forward was virtually on the goal line when he crossed so in effect he passed it back. When the referee went over to speak to him, he had flagged the player who had crossed the ball after he had crossed it and then after the ball was headed into the goal! The referee allowed the goal after telling the linesman not to be so daft. He must be worth a few points every season to the team!
secretscout Posted October 5, 2010 Report Posted October 5, 2010 Haha, yea like a good goalkeeper, worth at least 15 pts a season. Well he made 4 or 5 very suspect offside calls which got the away side fuming. And for me the worst decision, the ball had come off a defender and was rolling out for a corner and an attacker from the away side was watching it out and so was the lino, it rolled out less than a foot away from the corner flag but for a corner, he flagged for a throw in!!!! It rolled out about 2 yards away from him, now im not saying he was a cheat but you dont make a mistake like that accidently. This then infuriated the away attacker who was shielding it out! Very poor linesman who WILL cause serious problems this season if he doesnt sort his game out.
