stewart cawte Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 Calstock 9 vs St.colomb major 0 Great result clearly for the 1st team and the club. Very good short ball football played and reasonbly refereed by Dave Grant. I must say that i was dissapointed with St.Coloumb Major's conduct both in field play and in the dressing room after!!!! It was everyones fault apart from there own and to actually try and run through players constantly which is what there number seven done all game was very sad.I was pretty pissy with the conduct that the away team showed towards our players and sadenned by it. Two players that shone for the away team was there winger ( number 11 )who ran all day with no back up and a great attitude and also there keeper who also had a brilliant attitude, but kept the scoreline down. I wish the team well but especially the two i mentioned as in my eyes are wasted in such a side who wants to just fight amongest each other.
Guest chismuss Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 Lanreath 2 St Newlyn East 2 Lanreath fully deserved their first point as they played the conditions better than Newlyn. To be fair Newlyn never showed what we are capable of. Cannot believe your same team lost to Grampound last week!!!! Must make a comment on the excellent playing surface - congratulations to your groundsman for his obvious hard work over the off-season! Good luck against Pensilva in the Cup - and we shall look forward to your visit to Cargoll Road later in the Season! :c:

Woodmanaldo Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 Cannot believe your same team lost to Grampound last week!!!! Unbelievable! Guess what Grampound also won again yesterday; at this rate we may even avoid relegation... Even more unbelievable is that all of our team are also in full time employment, can speak fluent English & can read & write!

Hello, I am the Vice-chairman of St Columb Major AFC, I am also a player (although I didnt play this game), and was Captain of the side at the beginning of the season before injury struck, I just wanted to apologise for the behaviour of the St Columb team conduct, I am a firm believer that no matter what happens on the pitch, after the game, win, lose or draw, you should do so gracefully and do the usual hand shakes etc, and judging by the 9-0 scoreline, I suggest that you guys at Calstock deserved to win, I will certainly be having words with the players about this game, and once again I can only offer my apologies. Good luck for the next round.
stewart cawte Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 Hi Meats, I appreciate your reply. I take on board that this was clearly a frustrating day for your players and management. I commend you and your committee along with players to keep your club running as it is all so easy just to give up as we have already seen this season. I mean not to blow this out of proportion, but felt angered that certain players were deliberately attempting ( and in some cases succeeding ) to harm my players unnecessarily. ( maybe out of frustration???) hence i felt the need to write about it. Enough said on the subject and both myself and Calstock FC wish to offer you every success for the remainder of the season. Best Regards Stewart Cawte Manager 1st Team
Westy's Boots Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 St Cleer 0 - 4 Torpoint Athletic A good game played in a competetive nature with us coming away with the points! It clearly narked the old guy with the white hair that was on their sideline as he referred to us as being 'inbred' and me personally as 'a f******g cheat' when i was running the line. Now normally this wouldn't bother me but when it was the referee that gave the decision that got the silly old goat fired up in the first place and not me i didn't begin to wonder if he is as mad as a box of frogs! Add to that the fact that then i had to put up with his intimidation tactics of standing behind me and slating my team-mates and I for the rest of the game which i found hilarious as we built on the 1-0 lead we had at the time! No problem with the rest of the guys or players there but i think someone should have a quiet word before someone puts him on his arse! Not everyone will laugh off his comments and him being an old guy or not doesn't matter to some people! The Ref didn't help matters either and i don't usually think it helps when they are slated on here but he (Colin? The little old ginger Ref!) should really be put out to pasture in my eyes as if you can no longer keep up with the game what is the point of you being there in the first place? Rant over! Good luck to St Cleer for the rest of the season.
