Arsenal fan Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Mining divsion 3 St Ives Mariners 1 - 13 Ludgvan After coming close over the past few weeks we finally got our first win of the season. Some good football played by all the lads today with Billy Foster scoring five. Mariners never stopped battling though, good luck to them for the rest of the season.
Damo No 2 Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Mining League Div. 2 Mt Ambrose 1 .v. St Just Res 4 Not at the races at all today. We were all looking forward to the game and building on recent performances despite missing some players. St Just started well and gained a 2 nil lead with some quick and neat passing in our half of the pitch. We pulled a goal back as St Just were appealing for a foul I think and Richard Ward finished from just inside the box after good work by Adam Rowse, Steve Hick and John Salmon. St Just were still coming forward with pace and incisive passing but our goal galvanised us and we were unlucky not to add further goals after a succession of corners and a a good spell of pressure. 2 - 1 at half time and still something in the game for us if we started getting amongst them a bit more. St Just sat deeper in the second half and seemed happy to hit us on the break which bought them joy all game. We desperately wanted to get the next goal but went 3 -1 down when we couldn't deal with a dangerous ball played into the 6 yd box. Almost straight away we had a chance to get back into the game when John Salmon was fouled in the area but the visiting 'keeper saved the resultant spot kick. The rest of the half seen a few chances for both sides but St Just added their fourth with some neat passing and their striker finished with a good lob. The match was well controlled by the ref who admitted himself that it was a shame he had to issue a number of yellow cards and a red as some silly challenges and swearing ruined the latter part of the second half. All the best to St Just for the season. Mt Ambrose Man of the Match - Steve Hick

maddog1 Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Storm 1-4 Sennen another good performance and probably should have been a bit more comforable but credit to storm who stuck at it for 90 mins. goalscorers were jamie n 2, paul 1 and ben g 1. good luck to storm for the rest of season as a great bunch of lads.
Martin Eddy Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 mining 2 mousehole3rds 2 titans 3 mousehole went 1-0 up in the first 5 mins. and deservedly lead at half time even though titans played the better football ?????? at the start of the second half titans equalised through adam brown only for mousehole to go back and take the lead. 2-1 titans worked hard for the rest of the gamae and eventually their football played off and they won 3-2 with 2 goals from mitchy.some times you have to work hard for a win and today was one of those days.well done to mousehole you will win more than you lose thanks for the hospitallity back at your club, see you at ours. :c:
Dan Inch Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Mining 2. Carbis Bay 2 - 2 West Cornwall Carbis Bay were far the better side in the first half, going in 2-0 up. We gave a better show in the second but Carbis Bay were still better, we escaped with a draw thanks to two Owain Barrett stunners and some outstanding saves from Gary Stephens. Good luck to Carbis Bay.

Guest man city fan Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 goonhavern 2 - 1 wendron , mining 3 wendron unlucky not to get a point from this game . we were 1 nil up until goonhavern pulled one back from a free kick on the edge of the area, then took the lead with a good finish about ten minutes later. wendron had good chances to leval up hitting the post and cross bar.

GuvDRed Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Cornish New Boys 3 Rosudgeon Res 3 Interesting one today, overall a very good game to watch with both teams fighting for all 3pts . Its fair to say Rosudgeon did'nt start well and CNB could have been out of sight in the 1st half but for poor finishing. We got our act together after 25 mins started to settle and went in at half-time 1.0 after a good finish from Zak'Chesney'morris. Second half CNB really came at us and were soon on level terms and then took the lead 2.1.But we levelled with a great delivery from the corner knocked on by Dan,which TBA burried to keep his great run in front of goal going.2-2 With 10mins left CNB took the lead again with a very sloppy goal from our point of veiw,Bundled over the line after 2 or 3 chances for us to clear passed by. But we were'nt going to lay down and with 4 on the clock 'Chesney' got his second with a fine long drive, low in the bottm left corner. In the last min we should have taken all 3pts when Geordie found himself behind the defence, but the keeper made a very good save.A draw was probably the best reult in the end though. All the best to CNB,Good bunch,Good game,And really well reffed. Praze Res at home next week,so on we go. PURPLE ARMY
redrum123 Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Goonhavern 2 - Wendron 1 A good game of football played today, with wendron taking the lead in the first half thro a sloppy defended but good header from a corner, 0-1 at h/t. Second half started as first ended and goonhavern had a chance from a free-kick which while wendron were messing about and setting up their wall was taken quickly by luke and went in 1-1, after a tussle at each end, a great ball cross field to the left saw alex bring it under control run at goal and hit past the keeper scoring our second, 2-1, the game didn't end there and both teams had the odd chance with wendron hitting the crossbar from a blast of a shot think it may have been deflected???? and goonhavern making a break lobbing the keeper only for it to go agonising wide!!! Anyway, great game, good luck to wendron for the rest of the season. :smiley20:
baggie Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Got to say I was a little disappointed to be left on the bench today but I did miss last week & d'management decided to stick with the lads who played last week, who am I to question this after today. The guys pulled this performance out of the hat from goalkeeper to centre forward, truly awesome display. We didnt have it all our own & at 0-0 Robartes hit the cross bar & we were glad to see the ball clear. However the longer the game went on the better we seemed to get. First half goals coming from 'Windy' Miller & Gee Pitt giving us a 2-0 lead at HT. Second half started the way we finished the first with lots of possesion & creating lots of chances. Gee got the 3rd with a miss hit cross(actually a stunning curler from 20 or so yards out from a wide left position). Sub Stu Peters came on to score a brace & Sub Ryan Treloar finishing off the scoring after a cross from myself also a sub (sorry had to get that in). Good luck to Gaffer & the boys for the rest of the season, glad to see Danny A not playing today as the boy's a handful & is missed by his team I'm sure. Gulval away next week.
Guest Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Redruth United 2 Gwinear 1 Good game! Took Redruth 70 minutes to kick into gear! Goals well taken. Man of the match, In my opinion was the Gwinear Keeper. Rarely looked like getting beaten. Made some fantastic saves. Small pitch in my opinion, suited Gwinears "Get the ball and run" ethos... Didn't really suit Redruth's passing game due to lack of space. Redruth took their chances well and deserve to pick up the 3 points. A point a piece would have been a fair result but Redruth whacked on the afterburners 10 mins before the final whistle
Guest TS1 Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Good game today at Mousehole by the looks of things PP

GwinearNo.10 Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 Gwinear CT 1 Redruth 2 (ht 1 0) A game that should of been dead and buried by half time , Gwinear scored towards the end of the half but by then should of been at least 5 up completely dominating the half passing and moving well crating chance after chance but blazing wide and over with woeful finishing and a few good saves by the visiting keeper. The Redruth post on here was an accurate description of the second half Redruth coming more and more into the game and our scratch 11 ran out of steam and ideas , Andy made some fantastic saves before Redruth finally were rewarded in the final ten minutes equalising from a quick throw and getting the winner from a corner with a fine header. Still we had a couple of chances to grab a point back but again we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. As for the ref young Ben Judd he did a fine job made more difficult by the constant moaning and other 11 refs on the field. I don't allow any of my players to talk to the ref or complain and unless ALL other teams adopt the same zero tolerance then we will have no game , he has the chance to become a very good ref but if he gets that treatment every week then he will quit and who could blame him. Well done to Redruth showing great character to come back and take all three points good luck with your season.
mikeyp Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 Illogan 6 Robarts 0 g pitt 2 s peters 2 r treloar m miller m.o.m l abbott-smith Our best display of the season by far. We went with the same 11 that did'nt do them selves justice the previous week v gwinear and they put it right v robarts today. everyone played there part in the win today and all 3 subs coming on and performing well the first 20 min were an even contest but the turning point was robarts hitting the crossbar on 25 min, that sparked illogan into life and we took the on 35 min when mark miller finished off a well worked move down the left hand side, 5 min later we went 2-0 up when gareth pitt hitting home from 8 yards out The 2nd half started well and we went 3-0 up when sub stuart peters finishing off well after some good work from luke abbott-smith on 60 min, pitt added the forth on 68 min with the goal of the game, and 2 min later stuart peters scored his 2nd and illogans 5th another sub ryan treloar scored the final goal and rounded off a good day. from alan buckley to gareth pitt the whole team put in a quality performance, hopefuully we can this standard up and take it into next weeks game at gulval whicg will be a trickie game down there good luck for the rest of the season for darren and his team i know for a fact you will be up there come may
Grass Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 A bit of a shame yesterday i couldn't play against Praze for illogan 3rds after rolling my ankle 10mins before the game was to kick off hopefully be fit for next week and be able to play and build on my good start to the season and pick up from where i left off against carbis bay last saturday :yahoo:
jcd Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 Mining 3 Trevenson 1 - St Buryan 6 Made hard work of it due to some rusty finishing in first half. Trevenson pulled one back (allbeit a freakish one) to make us sweat a bit as we went in 1 all at HT. Came out with the belief that the goals would come if we stuck at it, a few chances still went begging but we got there in the end. Hope the lad who I collided with dosent have to much grief with his broken thumb. They thought it was dislocated so tried to pop it back in but it didn't happen, OUCH!
Martin Eddy Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 Ts1 it was a good game for the mousehole boys and nuetrals but we made hard work of it.i don't know what it is with mousehole but they always get an early goal against us infact last season they were 3 up inside 20mins.they will be a good young side if kept together and will surprise a few teams in mining 2.the pitch at newlyn coombe vwas the best i have ever seen it at the end of the day even though we were not at our best we worked hard and scraped all 3 points.on to next week and gulval res. at home.wonder if coopsie is still around. :drink:
