A latest score, probably an indicator of the likely result;

Penzance Astro 11 St Georges 0 with 20 minutes to go. I'd seen enough.

Astro's score (so far) includes 4 penalties - one of which was saved - but Astro scored from the rebound.

On this form Astro look to be contenders for Div 2 (but then, they did first game last season.)

(Maybe St Georges 'll get 12 in the final 20 minutes.)

All played in fine spirit.

Div 1

MPad Utd 2 Booters 2 h/t 1-2

First ever game in Div 1 for the club and a great fightback after being two down in the first 10 minutes.

We found ourselves without a recognised keeper due to cricket and a late night, so had to resort to two makeshift stoppers (one in each half).

We battled back with goals from Ashley Farrow and Christian Blundell and I was pleased with the performance once we got going.

As usual there were a couple of contentious issues, including two disputed offside goals late on - one for each side. Interesting comment from the away lino regarding the reason why ours was ruled out, but luckily / unluckily the ref seemed to miss it!

More players to come back next week and hopefully one of our keepers will turn up!

Culdrose 5 West Cornwall 3

All 3 points for Culdrose today, regardless of the score as West Cornwall had fielded a player who is signed on at a senior club (Much to the anger of a few guys I spoke to on the pitch).

First few minutes were good for Culdrose, going 1 nil up through a good 20 yard effort from Central Midfielder Sadz.

Can't remember the scorers for West Cornwall as they went 2-1 up.. I know Owain Barrett scored a good volley from a rediculous angle.. After the "whoops" were heard from him, Everyone agreed it was a good cross ;) Well taken cross though

A few minutes after that.. We got a penalty... I stepped up to grab my first goal for Culdrose... But it wasn't to be.. I tried too hard to put the keeper off.. that I ended up putting myself off instead.. Into the crash gates above the goal it went.

A disappointing half for me really, head went down after that and made many mistakes.. So cheers for the lads for bearing with me.

Second half was much better.. Culdrose playing good football through spells, matching West Cornwall all over the park (Well, Astro).

4 goals followed... 2 from myself, can't remember who scored the others (Ive only been at the club for 2 games) but they were well taken.

A good all round performance by West Cornwall, Docky being strong in CB, Barrett's ability to spread the ball all over the pitch was evident (Not sure why he was subbed?) and Morgan Jeffries looking rather tidy when he came on at half time.

Our keeper making some brilliant saves which were, in my opinion, worthy of the Man of the Match award. A good game by all of Culdrose, battling well for eachother and for coming back from

Well reffed today by a usually, excuse me for saying, below average ref. But today he done really well and allowed play to flow and rarely put a foot wrong so well done on that. Obviously becoming better over time :)

Also a well done to the West Cornwall Lino who was very fair today, even taking stick off one of his players and shrugging it off.

Good game I think enjoyed by all!

All the best for the guys for the rest of the season

St Agnes 5 Mullion 4

Unlucky today and should of taken the 3 points. Fantastic going forward. Sammy Yeo scoring all 4 for Mullion. St Agnes pretty route one and thats where all the goals came from. Cant complain though as gotta stop it before it gets that far. 4-3 up with 2 mins to go. One of our players comes of so have to play with 10 men. Heard the watch beep to signal full time and then the ref has magicd some extra minutes from somewhere and they score 2 in injury time. Gutted isnt the word.

Thanks for the food after the game and best of luck for the season.

See you down Clifden.

4 penalties

Dare one ask for what offences?

All 4 pens conceded for fouls by the same player from our team, no malice just mistimed challenges. Partly to blame could be the cornea transplant said player recently underwent

all played in good spirits, many thanks to penzance astro for the food & good luck for the season!!

St Agnes Ladies Div 2 V Mullion

St Agnes enjoyed entertaining a competitive Mullion side!

5-4 the final result in a match where both teams competed fantastically in a good tempered, well refereed, evenly matched game!

5 goals for Tracie Burley at home and 4 for Sammy Yeo away!

Great match of ladies footie and St Agnes wish Mullion good luck for the rest of the season!

Malabar United 2 -2 Camborne Park

Really Hardfought game with both keepers having alot to do. Some Great Passing football from Malabar but just couldn't do it in the final third.

Collin Bennets Ref did a very good job, letting the game flow nicely.

Dange'rous ... fair reflection on the Culdrose vs West Cornwall game, and apologies for fielding a player who wasnt signed on, but we were left with no choice, as 3 or 4 players did a no show-er, which is inexcuseable, and we would of had to cancel the fixture if he didnt do us a favour and get out of bed at 10.15 to help us out, as did Owain Barrett, so to be honest we were grateful for them playing.

Just frustrating when players agree to play then dont even turn up without even bothering to phone the manager and let him know! :angry2:

But to add to that Dange'rous, i can see yours and others frustration at illegible players playing yesterday, as he set up all three goals for West Cornwall and pretty much all good moves went through him in midfield, i understand your frustration, but surely it was better to do that than to cancel the fixture completely? ;)

After hearing from the referee, he has since told me that the correct time of added time was added and the goals scored were fair. I wasnt trying to insinuate that the ref was cheating and on this forum get bored of people coming on and slagging of the refs. I was just frustrated at the fact that my girls played st agnes off the park and then come away with nothing. I suppose thats football. Look at Everton vs Man U so it happens at the top too. I apologise for any offence caused and am now looking forward to the next game on Sunday.

Tim/Bexterhall - is there an update please on Sammy's ankle injury please?

Thank you

Will find out tonight. She has been resting it. She is buzzing to come back to training tomorrow so we will see. Think rest it up and strap it and should be fine for another 4 goals next sunday!

I werent frustrated :) I know a few of your lads were a bit " " about it as they didnt see a point in playing a game if you wouldnt get any points regardless. But, if its the difference between having a fixture or not, I think any other sunday manager would do the same.

Personally, I didn't care. You're right when you say about cancelling the fixture though. We deffo wanted a game :) Would have been a shame not too.

Everyone enjoyed it, had a laugh and soaked up the rays so it's all good!

All the best for the rest of the season :c:

I think the watch beep you heard was from mine, which i run straight 45, i don't stop it for injuries, subs or fetching balls. Hope Sam's legs better and she does make it to training :smiley20:

Yeah cheers Anita. Thanks for clearing it up. Just have to make sure in the home fixture we are 5-0 up with 2 mins to go so we get the 3 points!!! Haha

Dangerous what is the point in doing a write up like that for a comletely pointless game are you that desperate to let people know you scored

A write-up.... Isn't that what the Cornish Soccer Forum is for... or am I mistaken?
