stevethedoor Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Was just wondering if there are any Mining or CCFA rules regarding playing on Astro pitches? We at Mount Ambrose are due to play West Cornwall on the Astro pitch at Camborne College on Sat but dont wanna fall foul of the league by doing so. We are quite happy to play on the surface but dont want it to affect our Insurance etc if there are some special rules regarding its use?? Thanks

Thanks Double check that it's astro and not 3G as the 2 are very different, Both Premier Sixes and St Stephens Boro use 3G pitches accredited by the league and FA but not sure on the rules for astro pitches.
Dan Inch Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 It is a 3G and I have checked with the FA and they have sanctioned the use, I am trying to contact the league to see if they have any issues, there shouldn't be as other league teams are using 3G's as match pitches.
paulo bestiniho Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Russia are an international team and dont they play on a 3g pitch???
Magic Mike Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 dont prem 6's play all home games on one??
Jamie C Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 yeh russia play on 3g for there games. its a difficult surface to get used to i believe. different bounce and pace etc of grass lol. its the thing of the future i believe its alot less hassle then grass but in my view you just cant beat the green stuff ! :yahoo:
Phil Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 I'm pretty sure the Mining League's view on this is that the visiting team have a choice on whether they want to play on it or not. If not it would be rescheduled for later in the season on grass. Don't quote me on this though. I would of thought if you had any doubts about playing on it you should tell the league fixture sec soon as poss, so as he can plan around it. :c:
St Darren Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 easy surface to play football on, just hurts your joints cos once your foot is planted it doesn't go anywhere! and it makes your boots black on the bottom
Anita Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 easy surface to play football on, just hurts your joints cos once your foot is planted it doesn't go anywhere! and it makes your boots black on the bottom and you get little black rubbery bits everywhere, and grazed knees, so take some plasters with you

Thanks It would be advisable to speak to someone at the F.A or Mining league for a straight yes or know answer? You could always ask West Cornwall themselves as they did play on that pitch last season in Mining 3 if I remember rightly, They must have had insurance and an ok from both the F.A and Mining league to do this surely
Guest Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 you get little black rubbery bits everywhere I bet you enjoy that bit Anita :D
Jeff Stelling Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Great surface to play on, just remember to vaseline your knees up if you plan on making any slide tackles! For a footballing team it is the perfect pitch, rolls like a finely cut grass pitch and has no weeds or rabbit holes so you dont get an unpredictable bobble. The only teams that will struggle on it are the ones who win games by bullying the other team out of it by kicking lumps out of them!
Anita Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 you get little black rubbery bits everywhere I bet you enjoy that bit Anita I was still finding bits in my hair nearly a week later
