Midlandsman Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Hi Folks I'm down in Cornwall yes it;s me again!! This saturday I am looking at going to Chacewater v Mousehole, but have no idea where the ground is, has anyone got the post code or directions please Also following Saturday will be going to St Dennis Also no doubt will be going to a couple to midweek matches whilst down as well Regards Rob
Pablo Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 I could be completely wrong here mate but my guess is it's in CHACEWATER! It's a funny little village with a chippy, a post office and a couple of pubs, all of which are up for sale. So bring money!
patch Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 If you coming from Truro direction head into chacewater and turn left at the first pub, park in the public car park just behind the pub. Then a 2 minute walk up the hill with 1 right turn then you should be able to see the playground at the bottom end of the pitch

I don't come on here slating Bodmin Pablo and how run down that place is as i see it most days of the week, please get your facts right before making statements. Midlandsman can make his own mind up tomorrow.
Phil Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Come on Nigel, be fair. The pubs, chippy and post office are all for sale, so pablo does have most of his facts right. But from a spectators point of view its a great ground to watch a game. Normally a decent crowd with good banter coming from the pavillion, always plenty of encouragement for the home team, and you need a thick skin if your the away. Nice half time cup of tea, and Donald moaning in your ear for 90 mins. I think Midlandsman will enjoy his day out. My prediction 3-2 to the home team. But best of luck to both teams.
Jamie C Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 easiest direction i would say is --- get to the red lion pub. park in the car park there. then walk around the pub go up the road bout 50 ft.. turn right walk another 20 yards.. you then see a black gate on your left walk in there.. past the bowling green and the climbing frames... then past the skateboard ramp and the pitch is there next to you! i must say the pitch up chacewater is lookin prob the best it has in years! well done to that man!

Jamie, Chacewater did have a red lion pub about 40 years ago! (now the rambling miner) Think you mean the Kings Head. But i would park in the public car park - its free.

I was talking about Chacewater with affection, not slating it. I have worked in the village many many times. My mate even once owned the chippy. I just happen to know all three businesses are, or were recently for sale. In fact only recently did I hear the post office was for sale. I thought about buying the chippy myself in fact. Anyway mate, as I said, I have affection for the place, I like it. Sorry if you misconstrued my first post.

There are businesses for sale in the village which is symptomatic of the times we all live in but Chacewater is far from alone in that respect. No bad feelings.
Pablo Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 No prob's mate. I don't like the idea of places dying any more than I do a footy club folding.
