gas on tour Posted September 8, 2010 Author Report Posted September 8, 2010 Why is Bodmin v Liskeard off please? They have had some problems internally John, the game is now going to be played next Sunday at Bodmin
metts Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 can we remember that vets football is not only a sunday morning thing it can be played anytime durning the week if both clubs agree , we only play on a sun morning because the fields are usualy free after a sat fixture , but the league rules state its not a sunday morning 11 ko league. fixtures should suit both clubs ,but can be played anytime during the week if you cant ko at 11 its fine try to ko later , if you cant play on a sun then if you can try the evenings just inform john bates and tony steed the ref appointments officer, just because a sunday 11 kick off might not suit then please be flexible and work to get it played asap ok ,remember veterans football is not a sunday morning league in the rule book ,, alan metters
Martin McHugh Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 I`m sure I speak for most Veterans when I say that one of the reasons we play football is for enjoyment and the fact that the games are on a sunday makes it much easier with family, children and work comittments. To work all day then drive to an away fixture in the middle of the week is a huge request for any team never mind the veterans squads. I`m sure the league will step in and make judgement on postponed / cancelled games but I think it is time to question what veteran clubs actually want. To call off matches because the time doesn`t suit sounds like an excuse for not having enough players and I personally would rather forfeit the points and play a friendly!
Martin McHugh Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 p.s. why is our game off tomorrow!
Martin McHugh Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 Cheers cheers, interesting to hear other veterans views??????????
