Darren Lewarne Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 The Carn Brea 5 a side league AGM is tomorrow night, 8.30pm at Holmans. This league is the longest-running small sided league in Cornwall, having started in 1974. Even I was a boy back then. I am sure there are many players out there with fond memories of playing in the league. In recent years, it has admittedly been difficult to field the number of teams needed for a full Tuesday and Thursday structure. With the rise of the 6 a side outdoor leagues, this has seen teams and players spread themselves more thinly across the county, and unfortunately the Carn Brea League has suffered. It would be great to see some new teams wishing to enter this season. Two games usually every 2 weeks (so you can claim brownie points from the missus in your alternate weeks off), and cost works out approximately to the equivalent of a couple of quid per player per week played. If you are interested in joining the league please either come along to Holmans tomorrow night, or give Graham Tippett a call on 07899 951512
patch Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Was quite keen until I read the name tippet on the end of the message!
