footballhater Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Mining 2 St Agnes 6-8 St Ives Reserves Crazy game at Chiverton Park, with Aggie players blaming the fact that they'd been at the surfer's ball and St Ives pointing to the fact that they had a bare 11 and a grandad in goal. At times this resembled basketball as each side took turns to go up and score. Eventually St Ives surged into a 7-4 lead, but when Aggie pulled a goal back the ref announced it was 6-5! St Ives were raging and all of a sudden the Aggie boys (perhaps due to the previous night's narcotics) said that 'sounded about right'! Common sense eventually prevailed and St Ives went on to claim victory. Some how a defender was MoM- the St Ives centreback who managed to win enough headers to keep his team in front. The game was played in a good spirit and in a nutshell, this was mining 2 at its terrible best.
Soccer Follower Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Div 2 Chacewater Res 3 Gulval Res 3 h/t 0-1 A draw was probably a fair result although both teams may feel that they should have won but both ended up with their first point of the season. The visitors took the lead after 20 minutes when a headed clearance was blocked and fired into the net.Gulval also struck a post and Chacewater manager Paul Chadwick went close on a couple of occasions. Gulval capitalised on another loose ball to fire into the roof of the net ten minutes into the second half to extend their lead.Chacewater's new look team then took the game by the scruff of the neck and James Martin pulled a goal back.Ross Arnold equalised following a flick on from Mark Winter and Martin drove another shot into the corner to take the lead.A defensive mistake allowed Gulval an equaliser with five minutes remaining. Chacewater did have the ball in the net again but it was disallowed for a foul in the build-up and the intervention of the assistant, incidentally a Chacewater supporter helping out Gulval. Good luck to Rhondda and his players who are a good bunch.
The General Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Well done Gulval Reserves good point away from home, that should get you rolling !

Damo No 2 Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Mining League Div. 2 Threemilestone Res. 4 .v. Mt Ambrose 0 A very lacklustre performance from Mt Ambrose today. We started well and had a good 10 to 15 mins of pressure and chances but didn't hit the back of the net. The age old adage of ' goals change games ' came to mind when TMS broke away and scored with their first attack. TMS scored a further 2 goals from similar break away attacks and we were foiled time and again with our efforts. We certainly felt that we could still get something out of the game at half time but we needed an early goal in the second period which unfortunately never came. There were a few chances for both sides but for the most part we were up and down the pitch breaking up each others play. The final goal which sealed our defeat was terrible misfortune when Mt Ambrose man of the match Tom Biddle headed back to Sam Tidball in goal but somehow the ball ended up in the back of our net. We certainly know that we can play better and we are at home to Illogan 3rd's on Tuesday night which is the perfect opportunity for us to put it right for our manager. All the best to Threemilestone for the season and thank you for the handsome bit of grub at the social club.

jcd Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Mining 3 St Buryan 5 Perranpoth 0 Great work rate from the lads again today as we worked hard through the 90. Good effort from the Perran boys but they were short of a few players due to another game. Good luck to them as they were good lads who never gave up . Next game against Madron on Tuesday if they have a team. We hear they have one team fulfilling both Mining 1 and 3 fixtures . Is their any truth in this?

Dave Marks Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Carbis bay 2 - Titans 3 Played a good outfit of players at carbis bay led by Lee Norman all this with no goal keeper today & three defenders missing 2-1 down at half time and take nothing away from them but they werent that good, neither were we mind you, Took Adam Brown out of goal half time he scores 2 in the second half a cracker and a pen and it was backs to the wall for the last 15 when they really were the better team, Dan thomas in goal second half pulled off two super saves, Carbis bay will defo be in the top 4 on that showing lets hope we will be two. 6pts from 6 two dig in deep games but delighted with both outcomes so far.Top 5 the target to finish the season, by xmas we will see if were title challengers again, hopefully

swordfish Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Mining 1 Newlyn 2-5 Threemilestone (HT 1-1) No excuses (actually one excuse, the entire back four was played out of position) - Bad peformance from Newlyn, even after going 2-1 up. TMS hit the woodwork, missed a penalty and could have scored a few more after Newlyn's makeshift defence crumbled towards the end. The TMS number 8 seemed to control the middle of the park and the two lads (brothers?) that used to play for Chace played really well and they deserved their win. Well reffed considering the match got a little bit feisty and a couple of yellow cards were handed out. Must do better Newlyn, starting on Tuesday.
Gee Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Mining 1 Illogan 11 - 1 Sennen Mark Miller 2, Curly 2, Stuart Peters 2, Ryan Trelaor 2,Rob Bray, Jason Buckley and goal of the day a 25 yard screamer from Dave Thomas (Denver) Another good display and the really good start to the season continues this time last year we had already lost 2. Goonhaven on Wednesday which will be a tough game though.

Mangle Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Division 3. Newquay 3rds 6 v Newlyn NA Res 2 There is no way we can say that Newquay did not deserve this win. They scored 4 more goals than us! But we do feel that we kind of shot ourselves in the foot a bit. Newlyn were up 2-1 at half time, and it was relatively comfortable, the Newquay goal coming with basically the last kick of the half. However, we made some changes at half time, Newquay scored after no more than a minute, their tales were up, and the rest is history as they say! Sorry we didn't go for a pint afterwards, a few had to get straight back and the rest of us hand wounds to lick!
redrum123 Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 st ives mariners v goonhavern res well well, what a joke this is, goonhavern turned up at 13:45, mariners didnt at all!!!!!!!, no calls or anything, wasted saturday afternoon and fuel in my opinion, just glad that it wasnt further down, but on bright side an easy 3pts in the bag when awarded so all joy!! Have Madron next saturday away and our first have madron home, so hope that they can raise 2 teams as read earlier they are struggling, hope its all hearsay!! but if not let us know in good time please!!! After we left at 2:30 some of us went to watch our first team who were missing a few players, when we got there goonhavern were 1-0 up but that didnt last, gwinear came back and scored quickly a few times. in a see-saw match that saw goonhavern start to make a comeback, gwinear finished it off to win 6-4. Hope first team are a full squad in mid-week as they have illogan who from what i have read are on fire at the moment.
Wildee Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 mining 2 praze 6 - 1 st just res Is it right there was a great goal scored by martin willey. Great goal? He did score and bundled the ball and keeper into the back of the net. His miss was better - ball bounced off crossbar, just needed to tap it in, kicked ball, hit his head and went out for a goal kick. All this when the ball was almost over the line! Cracker.
Arsenal fan Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Division 3 Cornish New Boys 5 - 4 Ludgvan We snatched defeat from the jaws of victory! Well done to Cornish New Boys though, they battled through to the end. Ludgvan goalscorers Billy Foster 2 Tony Hannaford 1 Lee Hannaford 1
Halsetown AFC Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Halsetown 1sts 5-1 vs Redruth Good win after a slow start - too many on the beer the night before possibly? Goals came in 2nd half with Halsetown always looking stronger. Redruth are a good bunch and sorry we could not provide food for you in the pub after - the pub has only just re-opened. Halsetown Res Many apologies to Illogan for the late call. We tried our best to get a team together but only had 9 (I think) in the end. Combination of people working, holidays, last minute injuries, and a wedding in St Ives. Sorry again, but we tried to get enough not to call it off.
GuvDRed Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 Redruth Utd 0 Rosudgeon Res 8 Fantastic all round display from the lads on Saturday,I think its fair to say Redruth were not at there best but Rosudgeon was in fine form and everything seemed to just click. Some of the football and teamwork was simply awesome. The goals were spread around the team and TBA got his hat-trick.It would be hard to single anyone out today as every man done his job superbly on the day.Very positive all round but we are not getting carried away at the club, the season is only 2 games old so theres a long, long way to go. All the best to Redruth. As for Rosudgeon we have a another big fixture midweek against Hayle and we need to keep doing what we're doing with the workrate and team spirit, take each game as it comes and see where that takes us. Well done lads....PURPLE ARMY.
