Launceston 4-4 Bodmin

Wow what a game, Bodmin bossed it for an hour, 0-3 up then Launceston second half come back to 2-3 with 2 Liam Tilley headers, then 2-4 before 2 late goals from the clarets (Garner awesome) to make for a final 5mins at 4 a piece when Launceston with the momentum could have twice snatched a winner. Top game for any neutral and we had a couple watching their 1st game at Pennygillam since moving to the area and they were thoroughly given a good show. PS Mickey Rowles-Jane did a Hangelaand making an equaliser after an unfortunate o.g.

NEWQUAY 2 PERRANPORTH 1

A good game at mount wise where if you were a neutral you would have said that "The Peppermints" should have won 7 or 8 - 2 but we rode our luck and maybe should have rescued a point. Jim has got some excellent youngsters in his team and Robbo was always a threat, and Paul hampshire is still class but we nicked the lead right on half time when Brian Hawke rifled home from the edge of the box, this was after Newquay had had at least 5 or 6 chances either saved or denied by a last ditch block. Robbo was also brought down at 0 - 0 and Scott Palmer hit an absolute rocket of a penalty which nearly knocked my arm out of its socket saving it.

The 2nd half was only a couple of minutes old when we missed two excellent chances but for the rest of the game it was all newquay pressure. A dodgy hand ball led to another Penalty which Robbo took and missed slthough as all goalkeepers do i'll claim a touch, finally with 20 minutes to go a quick free kick found robbo who fed Carne and he sloted home for the equaliser, not more than two minutes later Palmer cut in to rifle home the winner from the edge of the box. Danny Ford almost rescued a point but his 20 yarder crashed against the post.

Overall you would say the better team got the three points watched by a good crowd enjoying a lovely sunset and a spectacular moon..... anyway its a well earned rest for me as my son Ben is back on saturday.

Quality comment from a young lad and his dad behind the goal in the 2nd half "Dad, why is the defender taking the goalkicks ?" "Well the keeper may have an injury or he may be old and Knackered !!!" :yahoo:

I wonder if there is a chinese syindicate at work at penlee park i'm sure someone had a grand at a 2-0 abandonement......

Good of you to come on here and say that Nanks - the 2nd half was pretty awful!

After being the better side for the first 15/20 mins I thought, Falmouth got on top but were lucky to be one up thanks to a very dodgy penalty from a very poor (young & inexperienced) ref right on half-time. However the 2nd half was a horror show, especially defensively, and we gifted Falmouth 4 of their goals. As you say, with luck we'll start to put things right against Bovey on sat then at Wadebrdige next tues...at least 4 points minimum in my opinion given stiffer tasks to come.

On behalf of the players I would like to apologise for our performance to all our supporters who made the trip down last night. We let ourselves down and the club. Hopefully we will put it right on Saturday.

Dan Nancarrow

Nanks.

Good to see an honest reflection from a player. I must say though I thought some of AFC St. Austell players performed well. Just interested to know if you have been asked to speak on behalf of all the players and management, or, you've done it of your own back.

Good luck for Saturday.

Thought the referee was poor & also his young assistant, second time we have had him this season, & he has been poor both times

I do not feel he is old enough or anywhere near experienced enough to take charge of these games

saying that i must add the better team won, no complaints from me we have to get better defensively or we will carry on struggling! we have conceded 14 goals in 4 games not good enough

Buckland Athletic 6 Dartmouth 2

Buckland did their very best to keep Dartmouth in this game with 2 very woeful attempts at defending. Buckland had gone into an early 2 goal lead before dungey played chicken with the darts forward and lost !! and Luke Horrocks messed up badly after a brilliant stopping the ball which god had sent back to earth with snow on it !!

Bucks got a 3rd just before half time but you could tell certain people were not happy !!!

Second half performance was much much better from Buckland with Simon Revell and Anthony Lynch playing very well.

The refereeing was poor to say the least but the assistant at the grandstand end in the 1st half was BAD. He allowed a free kick to be taken on the edge of the box, telling everyone except the referee that the offence was a yard inside !! He also managed to allow Lynchy to run onto a through ball, even though he was a good yard OFFSIDE.

I know we can't play football without them and i am sure they just had an off night, but...............

scorers ; Lynch 2 Si Revell 3 and Beattie

star man : Si Revell

Congratulations to Buckland on setting a new league unbeaten run. Game 28 eclipsed Bodmin's record of 2 seasons ago. 25 victories and just 3 draws. A fantastic achievement but please do not rest up as Bodmin are currently 23 not out !

Seagulls Start Flying

Mousehole 2 - 1 Truro City

Mousehole finally ended the unwelcome record of 12 games since they last scored a league goal and then went on to score a 2nd to earn a first win since March. Visiting Truro City Reserves had led at the break through Tom Ball but in the 2nd half Tom Patrick scored after 58 minutes to bring the barren spell to an end after some 17 and a half hours of playing time ! Their next goal came in the much shorter time frame of 28 minutes later as Patrick was on hand again to seal a 2-1 win. Report from swpl website!

Website man of the match - Tom Patrick
