Liskeard v Holsworthy

Recommended Posts

Liskeard got their season off to a flyer by beating Holsworthy 6-0. Liskeard were quick out of the blocks and it didn’t take long for them to take the lead. Ryan Thorogood pounced onto a loose ball 12 yards out following a corner. The second goal came from Colin Wilson 10 minutes before the break who headed in a superb cross from the excellent Richard Hill. Shortly into the second half Wilson grabbed his second after Lee Caers burst down the wing and crossed the ball to the far post for Wilson to smash in from an acute angle. Wilson grabbed his hat trick and Liskeard’s 4th after Jack Podmore crossed in an exquisite ball for Wilson to control and knock in from 12 yards. Liskeard were red hot and went looking for more and were rewarded when the dangerous looking Lee Caers was brought down in the box for a penalty. Caers picked himself up and smashed in the resulting penalty. With seconds remaining Liskeard grabbed their sixth and final goal. A corner floated into the box finally found the head of Keiran Glynn which looped into the top corner.

Man of the match was shared by Colin Wilson (hattrick) and Craig Walton although it was a tough decision with most players close to their best!

All officials were excellent and praise goes to Mr. Mills who handled the game very well and kept play going at all times.
