Frogpool Res. 1 .v. Mt Ambrose 6

A battling and decent win for us tonight. We wanted to give a good account of ourselves after last Friday's defeat, and give ourselves something to build on as the season approaches and managed it against a Frogpool side that possibly weren't firing on all cylinders. We were missing a couple of players but we started brightly and were feeding Richard Ward and Jason Dyer up front and had a bit of pressure. Jason Dyer ( playing against one of his former clubs ) opened the scoring smashing the ball wide of the 'keeper. Frogpool were trying to get joy by getting the ball down in midfield and passing through us but to be fair only created a handful of half chances. Callum Salmon doubled our advantage, rounding the 'keeper and knocking the ball in. Frogpool halved our advantage with a cracking through ball and their lad had time to pick his spot.

In the second half we forced Frogpool onto the back foot and added further goals but had to be wary of quick counters, especially as space started to open up as the game went on and Frogpool gained a few free kicks in good positions but we managed to block and clear any danger and finished the game comfortable winners.
