Woodmanaldo
Trispen (FHL2) 0 vs Grampound Reserves 4 (Duchy 5) Grampound scorers: Jason Retallick, Lee Budge, Matt Skews, Mike Berry. Another good preseason workout - Grampound's reserves put in there best preseason performance to date to win comfortably & with chances missed it could have been a bigger margin of victory. The game had a scrappy start but gradually Grampound took control & looked the most likely to score with Jason Retallick putting the side infront volleying home a corner from point blank range. Grampound were solid at the back throughout with Trispen failing to carve a clear chance on goal. With better finishing Grampound could have had more than a one goal lead at halftime. Mass changes were made at halftime but Grampound were still on top & some excellent football down the right resulted in Lee Budge side footing number 2 within minutes of the restart. Halfway through the half a Matt Skews cross somehow found its way into the net for number 3 before Mike Berry headed home a Dan Smith corner for number 4 in the final few minutes. Trispen had a couple of decent long range efforts, although clipping the top of the bar was the closest they game to scoring. Grampound managed to waste a host of chances in the final 10 minutes but nonetheless it was an excellent squad workout with all 18 players putting in a good shift with a few missing as well. Thanks to Trispen for the game & good luck for the season.
