cornishteddyboy
Crowd at Penzance 128 Fast open game, both sides allowing each other to play. St Austell had a couple of chances forcing good saves from the keeper but on balance Penzance had the better strike force and could have or should have (due to missing sitters) 5 or 6 goals. Paul
Fantastic game of football at Bodmin tonight. Both teams gave it everything and in the end a draw was about the right result. St Blazey played some really good football in the first half and Ashley Piget on the left and Josh Higman on the right were causing Bodmin alot of problems. Jay Isbell looked solid as well in midfield. The first goal was from a ball swung out to Higgy who took the ball inside the the defenders backed off expecting a cross but his shot clipped the inside of the post and made it 1-0. Blazey were well on top and made it two when a cross from the left was tipped by Miller in goal and Higgs smashed the ball home to make it 2-0. Zallick almost made it 3 when a low cross came across the box but he missed the ball with the goal gapping!! The travelling fans were happy as the half time whistle went. The second half seen Bodmin trying to get back in the game but with half hour to go St Blazey looked comfortable. But some how the ball came to a Bodmin player just outside the box with no one round him and he had all the time to curl the ball into the top corner. Bodmin were now in control and equalised with another looping shot after some panic had set in as Blazey tryed to defend. Bodmin didnt keep up that tempo after the equaliser and St Blazey got back to passing the ball again. Bodmin had a couple half chances to win it and Sam Cooper had a great header well saved by Miller right at the end. 2-2 a fair result and for St Blazey, it ends 3 seasons of Bodmin completing the double over them. Tonight was a great advert for local football, good football, decent atmosphere, crowd over 300, Bodmins pitch looking really good, who would stay in to watch England??? Roll on saturday and a very tricky F.A cup match against Torpoint.
