mikesrep
Liskeard worthy winners today and scored their first after only 15 seconds into the start of the new season! Joe Carey anticipated a mistake by Penzance's full back and drove forward playing a sublime through ball into the path of Richard Maddison, his perfect cross to the far post found Dan Parks who placed his firm header into the far corner of the Penzance net for 1-0. Liskeard continued to press and only a fine one handed save kept out another firm header from Parks from a precise Jason King cross. With the score at only 1-0 at half time Liskeard new the home side would press them in the second half and take hold of the game and that's exactly what they did. last ditch defending from centre backs Matt Godfree and lewis Russell, plus fine work from debutant Dan Tapper maintained the away side's advantage. Even when the the home side finally found the net the linesman's offside flag came to Liskeard's rescue. After weathering constant pressure liskeard secured their opening victory when the outstanding Joe Carey broke away and was tripped in the box leaving new signing Jonny Morris to smash home the resultant penalty. Liskeard wrapped up the game when, once again, Carey danced his way into the Penzance penalty area and unleashed an unstopable drive into the far corner of the home sides net. I think that it is going to be a long season for Penzance. yep will be a long season for pz,they have to travel up to north devon etc,I'm sure Captain, manager, tea boy Wage Quinn will get the boys together and pz will finish mid table,Still don't understand why James Devine isn't captain,he is the only one with premier div experience and played under mewton plus he is a pz boy? Also abit bad that all the pz supporters in the corner of the stand left before the final whistle yesterday, you should support your team through the bad times as well as the good times and also support the hard work of pz members such as adey eddie cornishTEDDYboy and john mead! Why should players from the last few seasons show loyalty, most of them didn't even live in west cornwall! The money now wouldn't even cover the petrol costs. The local players before the money got binned so why should they return now after the club showed them little loyalty before, only James Devine has stayed because he is called magpie. At every peninsula club the same thing always happens.I bet in 2 seasons time Falmouth have a rubbish team and play at penryn? hedgerow
Nice start to the season Coop's. Hopefully, look forward to seeing them play a couple of times this season. Is it possible Penzance will struggle this season and end up getting relegated ? Interested to read other comments
Goldeneye
Why should players from the last few seasons show loyalty Exactly my point Bananaman!! Why should supporters be criticised for leaving before the final whistle? What's sauce for the goose and all that!
