Cornish Chough
Gas on tour mot sure about 1st and 2nd teams lots of people still playing for places, alot of young lads trying to cement places in both squads, thinks there are 16 players in each squad and still a few missing on holiday, working and injured. should be a good workout for all three teams see u there
L.Ricks 10
St Dennis 5-5 Newquay (SWPL 1) Saints scorers : Lee Rickard (3) Carl Rickard Ryan Hayhurst Newquay Scorers : Paul Hampshire (2) Scott Palmer (pen) Shaun Middleton (2) Cracking game of football against a great Newquay side who played great football, but saints came coming back at them. Deserved result :-)
Nemesis
Paul Hampshire, midfield maestro of old, now centre forward and wearing the No.9 shirt, 2 goals from outside the area. Jims formations at times are confusing, it was a relief when he announced that he was going to 4-4-2, everyone understood that one, even Hammy dropped back into the middle. St Dennis could and should have had 3 goals before they did take the lead from a poorly defended corner, Luke Payne keeping C & L Ricks at bay with some stunning saves from quality strikes. Newquay took control and penned the hosts back, with goals from Hammy and a superb header from Middleton on the half hour. The ref awarded St Dennis a free kick on the edge of the box, to the amazement of everyone. The strike itself was first class and deserved a goal. St Dennis came out quickest in the 2nd half but it was Newquay that went 3-2 up, then choas ensued and goals flowed, 3-3, 4-3, 4-4, 5-4, 5-5. A complete nightmare for defences and Jim looked slightly worried walking back to his car, Peppermints fans can expect another roller coaster season, lets hope it ends on a high. St Dennis will walk whatever Division they are in with the Ricks brothers causing problems whenever the ball is fed up to them or from set peices. cornishteddyboy
You mean it will be the same as the last couple of seasons. Newquay pushing all season for promotion and in with a great shout until they seem to lose their way in the last couple of games of the year and get pipped at the post.
