Still three weeks to go before the big kick off so plenty of time for more movement in the transfer market.

As things stand I think that Torpoint won't have it all their own way this season, but Ricky's lads will still be the team to beat. With one or two likely to be promoted to the first team and with Graham O'Neill heading back to Edgecumbe, Torpoint may not be as potent this time around but it would take a brave man to suggest that they won't make it four in a row come May next year.

There has been a massive overhaul of players in Plymouth Parkway's first team and it depends how many may have filtered down to the Reserves before judgement can be passed on their chances, although they are sure to miss the strike partnership of Simon Parnell and Ross Avery and a lot will also depend on the availability of Lewis Young.

Bude were arguably the surprise package of last season and will no doubt be stronger in their 2nd season in the top flight if their recent 4-0 win against Holsworthy's first team is anything to go by....There is a new manager at the helm and if they have a decent start they could make another challenge this year.

Saltash United are in pretty much the same situation as Parkway in that there has been lots of changes in the first team. Andy Hatch did a great job in the second half of last season and will look to push on in his first full season in charge and they could also go close. They will, however miss the services of Ottery bound centre half Lee Withey.

Sticker had an up and down season last term and finished surprisingly in mid table. Manager's son Jordan Dingle is a fine young talent and if he stays fit could have a big season and they have the leagues most prolific striker in Chris Kitson. However they missed broken leg victim Jack Walker last season and he has since moved to London and will be a hard act to follow at RB. Their pre-season results have been quite good so far which indicates that they could be back on track and ready to back up their bid for SWPL football.

If we're talking about pre-season results then the team to look out for going into this season will be newly promoted St Dennis. Regardless of who their opponents had available (or not), 7-1 against Holmans and particularly 5-0 against St Austell speaks for itself (friendly or otherwise) and I can see them being this season's main challengers to Torpoint's crown.

That's six teams already mentioned without taking into account Bodmin, Probus, Launceston or the new management duo who seem to be shaking things up at Lanreath.

All in all it looks (on paper) as though it's going to be very competitive season with the gap between Torpoint and the rest a lot closer and plenty of teams capable of mounting a challenge for honours....we shall have to wait and see!!! :clapper:

This season will be much tougher than last and anyone from Torpoint, Parkway, St.Dennis, Saltash, Bude or even St.Stephens Borough given their advantage of home games at Saltmill all weather pitch :SM_carton: could win it.

I think Lanreath could be the surprise package given that hakey is back in charge and they have got rid of that joker Mark Blake.

All in all a tough season with no easy games......good for cornish football :c:

why was last season not tough? i don't think torpoint will win it this year though, they've lost a few players and the only 2 strikers they've got kershaw and cardew are both carrying injuries so why aren't they looking at signing more? every team they play this year will be their cup final so i would think st dennis stand a really good chance with parkway.

Writing off your own side 442 - bit negative? Where has Hicksy gone? Who else have you lost? dont you have exactly the same squad that you started with last season?

I do agree with you regarding St Dennis though, think they may nick it this season, but I would never write Torpoint off.

Watched Torpoint 2nd's play Elburton 1st's a couple of weeks ago and they looked very strong. The game ended 3 all. They gave Elburton a very hard run out and could have won it. So don't write them off just yet.

Will be very hard to predict this years title winners though.

Good luck to everyone
