Damo No 2
Camborne Park ( FHFL 1 ) 2 .v. Mt. Ambrose ( ML 2 ) 2 At Troon's Grouter Park. A decent game, both sides getting the ball down and looking to play football. I think we ( Mount ) had the better of the 1st half play although we were guilty of not creating any real clear cut chances. Camborne were unlucky not to grab a couple of goals from good positions when they broke quickly, firing high when in the 18 yd box. We grabbed the half time 1 nil lead when awarded a penalty for a push in the box which was calmly slotted to the right of the 'keeper by Richard Ward. We made changes at half time so that Mt manager Steve Hick could have a good look at everyone in what was only our 2nd friendly. This disrupted us somewhat and Camborne, as the half went on, came into the game strongly. This, however, was after we had scored our 2nd through Craig Barnard who had a pop from a long range free kick. Camborne scored one of their goals from the spot and really pressurised for the latter part of the 2nd half put were kept at bay by some good defending and a cracking save from Sam Tidball turning the ball around the post on one occasion. A good workout for both sides in the mist up at Troon. All the best for the season to Camborne Park on behalf of Mt. Ambrose.
