cornishman
Well done to the Hayle players and management for a great battling performance. To be fair, perhaps it could have been a wider margin but Hayle deserved ,on their 1st match together as a new unit, their goal and the close result. Its a very young side but lots of talent and pace on show against one of the favourites for promotion from the higher league. Great deal of optimism for the coming season !! You lost !! Well spotted Night Hawk.Result didnt matter.Hayle are in rebuilding mode so to run Falmouth Town close score wise was a good performance, particularly as this was the Hayle squad's very first outing. If you are a Falmouth supporter and if you were there then you would have appreciated the effort put in by both sides in good friendly. If not back to the batcave. Jasa
Saw Hayle's game yesterday. Played very very good football. Shows that you don't need big names or ego's to do well. Play like that all season and they'll challenge.
hansome dan
When i took hayle into senior football,i remember some st ives supporters saying on the touchline early in the season that we still had junior players and why had,nt we signed senior players for the new league???We lost that night but the following season those "junior" players finished runners up in the combo.Another 3 seasons on we had a senior peninsula league side and a senior combo league side with the majority of those "junior" players still playing for the club. BIGGER PICTURE and having the right players who wanted to play for the club and not money was the foundation of the club and hopefully always will be Winston they may be combo players in your eyes but i like to think of them as potential peninsula league prem players who enjoy playing for hayle fc. :drink:
Bambi
Most clubs are 'short sighted', as they are not patient enough to look at the 'bigger picture' in the interest of the club as a whole.
