morcs
I am saddened to announce that Tywardreath RBL of Duchy one have folded after 12 years in the league. Manager Jamie Stephens has had very little support in recent seasons and has had to step down for this reason and ever growing family demands. He really should be commended for everything he has done for the club. Also the commitment from certain players wained towards the end of the campaign which culminated in a 5-0 defeat in are final match of the season with only 8 players. There are a 8 or 9 of the squad including myself who are now looking for new clubs in the area. Such a shame this has happened but it just didn't look possible to get management and enough players in place for the coming season. Hope to still be involved with Duchy banter on here next season. COME ON ENGLAND!!
MattP
Very sad news, a top club, top lads and top manager. Spoke to Jamie yesterday and he was obviously very disappointed - people like him are few and far between (a Liverpool fan too!). All the best for the future to Jamie and his players from all at Polperro AFC.
Chris Davey
Sorry to hear the news of the club folding. Any of the Tywardreath players would be welcome to come and play for Probus. Having played against you at the end of the season you had some very good players.
AJW
A bit shocked to read this as I thought Tywardreath were the best side in Duchy 1 that we played against last season and felt they should have pushed on and challenged for one of the top spots. Any of the Tywardreath lads would be welcome at Grampound next season. Pre-season training starts Thursday 1st July. See www.grampoundafc.co.uk for details. Really surprised and shocked that they have folded, we played them in the semi-final of the Knockout Cup and thought they were a very useful side. Pablo
This is just a shame for Duchy football and Tywardreath in particular. I hope they have a re-think. Jamie, with all of the support you have here; you should re-consider mate. Pablo, Bodmin Saints.

COME ON ENGLAND!! Mate it is such a shmae that we folded it was just a shame for the players that wanted to carry on...has made me really think about hanging boots up next year....really dissapointed in certain things throughout the season especially commitment towards jamie and the rest of the squad...if we put our minds on the football and effort rather than moaning and about what people are doing over the weekend we would have probably cleaned up!!! Jenksy007
A real shame that we bid farewell to Tywardreath. I remember playing them a few years ago, at home when i was with St Austell, and each and every one of the lads played the game in the right manner. If any of the former players wish to carry on playing with smiles on their faces next season, then please consider the Charlestown Saints FC revolution!! :drink:
