Wingers shins
Well done to Treveson tonight fully deserved there win against yet again an under strength Buryan side. I believe that win means they stay in the top flight for next season. Was also nice to see Gary Bell and Tom Howgarth stepping back down to the mining league. Look forward to our games next season. Damo No 2
Mining League Div. 1 Trevenson Utd. 4 .v. St. Buryan 0 A lot of pressure on us tonight knowing that we had to win or draw to enjoy division one football next season, but no sign of any nerves whatsoever! From the off we took the game to St. Buryan and created a couple of decent chances early doors which helped to settle us into the game. We took the lead when Carl ' Stretch ' Stretton scored a ' Glen Johnson ' picking the ball up on the touch line and cutting in past a couple of players and hit a curling effort into the top corner of the net. St. Buryan came to play football and to their credit did so for the 90 minutes, but we held strong with Leigh Isaacs, again, impressive between the sticks for us and Tom Hogarth and Luke Hart absolutely solid at centre half. Spencer Osborn ran himself into the ground and had Shaun Isaacs and Gary Bell picking all the right passes to Dan Bowman, Andrew ' Mushy ' Symons, Luke Letcher and Sam Mayou, who had a great game on the wing. Dan Bowman lobbed the 'keeper for our second after good work from Spencer but I don't think St. Buryan will have any argument that it was what we deserved after some superb attacking football. Second half, we were always going to struggle to maintain the tempo and St. Buryan had more possession but both sides were trying to play football the right way and the second half display would serve as a good advert for Mining football. The third goal was always going to be a big one and it came courtesy of an own goal although everyone on the sidelines thought Spencer had the final touch! St. Buryan didn't give up but we started to enjoy ourselves and play some great stuff that ended with Sam Mayou grabbing our fourth with a header. End of our season and manager Stu Osborn has done what was required and kept us in Mining 1 for next year ( Oh, and we won the cup!! ) Have a great summer everyone on behalf of Trevenson FC. Well done to Trevenson United on winning their last two games (and winning them well). We at Chacewater managed to win two out of the last three to pull ourselves off the foot of the table and give ourselves a chance of Division One football next season but were dependent on your results in the end.Exciting end of the season for the two of us and St.Ives Town at the end of season. Do you know if Portreath will fall into the Mining or Falmouth Helston League next season? If it is the Mining League will that affect Trevenson and will all three clubs(St.Ives Town,Chacewater and Trevenson) be relegated to accommodate Portreath? matchu78
From speaking to the league I understand that if Portreath drop to the Mining league the league will play with an additional team for that season.
