Ben Stidwell has been the find of the season for me and I wish him well in his recovery. I think a special mention should go to Nigel Thwaites for being ever reliable when called upon. Perhaps Nigel didnt expect to get so many minutes but his experience has been beneficial to the whole team. I believe Nigel won supporters player of the year for Falmouth back in 1991/92? and it is incredible that Nigel was one of the better players this season. Great season for (evergreen) Nigel Thwaites who was a relevation for Falmouth this season At the start of the season I expected him to be the 'super' sub but he made 28 starts plus 3 from the bench amd the real bonus was his 10 goals. His 31 appearances took his all time Bickland tally to 197 so lets see Nigel back in July to get into the Falmouth Town 'Greats' 200 club. Nigel who rejoined this season from Porthleven made his debut 20 years back in 24th.February 1990. and his all time goal record is 60 goals. Remember when Nig first signed for us from Mullion and Trev had him on the bench for 22 games in a row! Me and the late great Dave Gardner were in Twilight Zone trying to talk him into staying,then he got his chance up St.Blazey,had a blinder and never looked back! Awesome winger! Yeh Mark,Nig won supporters player that season.I remember cos i was 2nd!!! Mike,how many of us from that era made over 200 appearances for Town mate? Denty,George,Dodge,Philpy etc? Also some special goals in your 56 goal haul. Mark, your question on Tony Kellow,Before his £12.000?? transfer to Exeter City he played two seasons 1973/74 and 1975/76 and scored 126 goals from 114 appearances at a ratio of 1.1 goal per game and is 11 th.on the all time goalscoring list. Tony does hold the record of most goals in a season=65 Peter Bennett had a scoring ratio of 1.23 goal per game (181 goals/147 apps.1961-69) and the top Falmouth Town goal scorer is Joe Scott with 204 (1972-78) There is a FT goalscoring list on the Cornish Soccer Forum Feb.2008 if you use the Search box (Top right of this page) 'Falmouth Town all time goalscorers'or an unusual name -say 'Etheridge' you should find your way there. When the Plymouth Argyle manager Billy Bingham signed him on Amateur forms after watching Falmouth Docks play against the Cornwall County Youth team. Not sure which team Tony was playing for?
