Duchy league result 13.05.10

Bodmin Saints 5 - 0 Tywardreath RBL

Okay, a good win for Saints on the face of it but Tywardreath had only eight players available. If nothing else; the visitors can take a lot of pride from this game. They played the whole ninety minutes for their club. Their manager and committee should be proud of their player's attitude.

Well done Tywardreath; you are a credit to yourselves and the Duchy league.

For Saints Dave Deejay Jeffries scored twice to take him just three strikes away from 150 competitive goals for the club.

A word for our referee: excellent.

To all the clubs we have played during the season in league and cup: Thanks guys and good luck for next season.

Thanks for those comments Pablo. Its such a shame that we have so many unavailable whenever there is a mid-week game, although i was hoping we'd get at least 10 there but it wasn't to be. We scraped 11 on Tuesday night but half of the players were injured so we went down heavily to Probus. It really frustrates me because had we won both games Tywardreath would have finished in 3rd but now we have had to settle for 5th! This happened last season when we couldn't find players for the evening matches, whereas saturdays we are at full compliment! Unfortunately it has been are undoing again as we really felt this was the season we'd get promoted.

The eight players were superb last night and there was good banter had by all on the pitch. Good luck for next season.

Ps. At least Shaun German didn't score, i'd have never heard the end of it!
