Troon 2 Culdrose 2

I dont think i have seen a game of two halfs like this for a while, with culdrose dominating the first half, and troon the second half. culdrose controled the ball in the middle of the game in the first half with ease, and made good use of their initial formation advantage with jack valentine, and the old chris o'hare in the middle doing well. Troon could not keep the ball in culdrose's half, too big a gap between the lads up front and the other players proved too much for the troon strikers. troon took the lead when a good ball by stevie p found shane richards, who slid in danny bell, who then played it back to shane before he hit a hard low shot which the culdrose keeper got down to well, but danny bell was there to hammer the loose ball in from all of 2 yards! culdrose hit back almost straight away when a poor clearance fell to o'hare who swung in a good ball for culdrose to equalise. Culdrose then took the lead when a corner was not cleared, and valentine hammered it past troons keeper to make it 2-1 HT.

troon came out all guns firing in the second half, and were on top throughout. shane richards was looking lively up top, and tom hogarth and beefy were solid as ever at the back. troon got their 2nd goal after the hour mark when a good ball in from gadaffi was met by bell, who hit it hard but was saved, and then stevie p pounced on the re bound to make it 2-2.

the game was a little bit scrappy, and some of culdrose's lino's decisions were mind boggling even culdrose's fans!dodgy lino! the ref, porky, had a good game in the middle, letting good old fashioned 50/50's to go, and making some good decisions for both teams, also allowing the game to flow throughout.

man of the match.....matt witts at the back was outstanding throughout the game for troon.

Ludgvan 2-4 Holmans

Holmans Goalscorers

Rob Press (2)

Ben Manley

Derek Pickin

If i said it was a classic and a high standard of football I would be lying but it was a welcome 3 points and "every little helps"!!! Ludgvan took the lead with an excellent free kick. Holmans responded with a goal from Ben Manley in the 30th min and on the stroke of half time Rob Press broke free down the left and crossed the ball to find Derek "crazy horse" Pickin charging in to side foot the ball into the net

HT 1-2

The 2nd half was as "entertaining" as the 1st and Ludgvan managed to find an equaliser. Holmans responded with a goal from Rob Press after he beat the offside trap to run through and score. Press got his 2nd from the spot following a dubious penalty descision that could have gone either way Full Time 2-4.

Holmans next match is the Supp Cup semi final V Hayle on Sunday @ Helston 3pm KO
