AJW
Duchy Div 1 Mevagissey 2-3 Grampound A terrific result for Grampound against likely promotion team Mevagisssey which secures Grampound's place in Duchy 1 after a fantastic run-in. Meva had quite a bit of the play but never really opened up the visitors. Grampound took a deserved 3 goal lead with 30 minutes to play and then missed a couple of gilt-edged chances to extend the lead yet further. A defender's mis-kick gave Meva's Chris Dingle a rare chance which he dispatched well and 5 minutes later a long free kick was touched by no-one but ended up in Grampound's net to create an exciting last 20 minutes. Grampound defended calmly to play out the remaining time without too many alarms even though Meva threw everyone forward. Grampound scorers : Ryan Orchard, Liam Streat, Shane Weeks. Many thanks to Graham Allen who came to the game to watch but ended up refereeing when the appointed official failed to turn up. Graham, a very experienced ref, oficiated brilliantly at a very intense game. www.grampoundafc.co.uk

Very unbiased chap!!!! Well done Grampound, if you could have had that team all season I think you would have been pushing for promotion?

Why would u want a team to put first teamers out for their seconds, when you are pushing for the championship? Surely you would want their weakest team lol

Anyway, a 4-1 Victory for the Saints with a few first teamers im told, who played for Meva.
Magic Mike
dont know why peoiple go on about people putting in some ringers! most dont fit in as not usually playing for the side also if they play for more than one side at a club the likelihood is they are getting through a lot of games at this time of year so are usually not firing on all cylinders mid week games are sometimes hard to get players for especially with the fixture pile up most clubs have right now
