Madron res 1 - 4 CBU

A deserved win in the end, but it wasnt easy as Madron were a hard outfit today and battled well. A few tired legs today after Thursdays game and we certainly all felt it today!! Another hot day and rock solid pitch! Thanks to Madron for food, spot on lads, thanks from all at Carbis Bay.

Mining 1

St Ives 0-4 Goonhavern

Quality performance from Goonhavern today, could easily have had 8/9. Credit to St Ives though, they never gave in.

Goonhavern took the lead when Sam Waters put the St Ives defender under pressure who finished superbly by lobbing his own keeper. Goonhavern made it 2-0 when Sam Waters lobbed the keeper having been put through by Joe Carlyon. It was 3-0 shortly after half time when Sam Waters headed in a cross from Paul Guttridge. Chris McCaskie scored his first goal of the season (should have had 4 in the game today :P ) to make it 4-0. Goonhavern missed numerous chances to add to the scoreline and some slack defending nearly let St Ives in for a goal.

The season is finishing at the wrong time for Goonhavern who recorded their sixth straight today.

Good luck to St Ives for their remaining fixtures, good bunch.

Mining League Div.1

Trevenson Utd. 0 .v. Robartes 1

A well contested game that a neutral would struggle to identify which team was 2nd in the league and which was second bottom. Defence was on top for both sides getting the ball clear when necessary and neither midfield could get going on the ball. I think we shaded the first half having 3 - 4 goal mouth scrambles but couldn't hit the net. Robartes were quick to get the ball forward to Mikey Catterell but all to often he was isolated and we were able to clear our lines. Half time 0 - 0 and certainly all to play for in the second half. We started slow which ended up being our down fall. Robartes won a free kick and as we were trying to hold our line the ball fell to John Lee who had enough time to pick his spot past Leigh Isaacs in goal. We were still having enough possession to think we could get something out of the game and certainly towards the end of the half we enjoyed a lot of time in Robartes half but they defended in numbers and were just doing enough to keep us at bay. Robartes had the ball in the net after Nick Troon found Mikey Catterell who lobbed Leigh Isaacs but the goal was disallowed for off - side. With time ticking away we had the ball in the net after Shaun Isaacs poked home following a throw in from captain Tim Kitchen but this was also hotly disputed after Robartes lino Darren Troon flagged saying the ball was flicked on by a player in an off - side position.

A good match to be involved in and we've both had a look at each other ahead of the end of month semi - final which quite honestly could go either way on todays showing. All the best to Robartes ( apart from the semi ) for the remainder of the season.

As a side note all the best for a speedy recovery to secretary Judy Gunn and young Dan Bowman who was taken to hospital today with a suspected twisted knee. Get well soon guys.

Mining 3

Gulval res 1-4 Rosudgeon res

Completely out played today, no arguements about the result. If you match Rosudgeons desire and enthusiasim then you have a chance to beat them, we did neither today hence the loss. Seems that now we are in a final we dont care..... :o:angry2:

Parky was a big loss 2 mins before ko with an injury, but hey, well done to Guv and the lads on a good result and very good season............. :c:

Two brand new managers, 2nd and 3rd in the league a cup final and semi final between us, bodes well for next season :drink: :smiley20:

Redruth United 1 (1) - Storm 0 (0)

A good game played in good spirits. A well taken goal by Wardy! Still proving he is one of the best strikers in the league which the stats would back up.

Well played to the Storm lads, unlucky not to get a point from it after a miss by one of their guys from a few yards at the close of play. Yet a very well deserved 3 points for Redruth :)

Man of The Match was Ryan yet again, having another solid game in the centre of the park

Mining 3

St Buryan 2 - Perranporth 1

Under the kosh in the first 20, in which they got their goal after some slack marking, we didn't give in as always and deservedly got our goals. Both of them in the second half thanks to Danny and Tom. Perran had chances late on but our reserve keeper played a blinder :clapper: not only with some great saves/decisions during the game but a 3 point save/winner right at the death :yahoo: . Cheers to Perran for a good game, shame the ginger twit has to keep goin on talking like he does!? He could do so much better by letting his football do the talking. But hey ho less said about him the better, thats a nice double win over a team that were shouting their mouth off pre season.

Illogan 3 - 1 Halsetown

Jeb Martin 2, Johnny Jones 1

Totally out played Halsetown 1st half and went in 3-0 up making a much better account of ourselves today unlike wednesday night when we didn't perform but equally Halsetown played very well battling and competing for everything.

Think today was a matter of we had to win with only the league left to go for where as Halsetown are looking to the cup final rather than league now.
