The Gooner
St Austell 2 Dobwalls 2 A competetive encounter and a draw was probably a fair result. St Austell played some good passing football using the slope well by knocking the ball into the top corners for Body to run on to time after time. Dobwalls who were missing a number of defenders re shuffled the pack and did well to match the hosts for most of the game. St Austell took the lead within the first minute when a defensive lapse let them in. Alex Martin ghosted in at the far post to meet a Simon skews cross to level before the break. A well hit cross by Dan Nancarrow found the un marked Brokenshire to fire home to resore the hosts lead. The visitors never gave up and just before the final whistle an Adie Walton shot was parried by the keeper to Stewart Dunn who levelled from close range. There was a fair size crowd in attendance despite the inclement weather who were treated to a fiercly fought contest.
Leaner
A competetive encounter and a draw was probably a fair result. Not sure Dobwalls 3 shots in the whole game, and 2 sending offs that should have happened, but didnt was worth you claiming a draw was a fair result. Fairly accurate on the rest of the report though. A very disappointed St.Austell team post match who played well below par, but we will certainly lift our heads for the semi final this wednesday, and set ourselves up nicely for the encounter against Perranporth next Sat!!
