(or something.) Nigel Jewell is therefore, a ref without a game. I've included this week's refs as Tony Steed, the Ref's Appointments Officer is temporarily "hors de combat" (it means he's ill) and so there may need to be an element of self-service as far as refs are concerned. I'm sure we all wish him a speedy recovery.

oldasitgets
Culdrose Star 3 Shortlanesend 2 Great advert for Sunday football. Loads of commitment, some lovely high speed one touch football played at times. But all in a great spirit. No dissent, no unpleasantness. Just a great game of football. Both sides had chances in an end to end game. Shortlanesend favoured attacking down the wings, Star tended to hit the front man. It wasn't until 25 minutes that the deadlock was broken, with the visitors taking the lead. From the K.O. Shortlanesend pushed players forward, only for a ball over the top to leave Jamie Moonie with just the keeper to beat. 1 -1 after 26 minutes. Second half followed the same pattern as the first with loads of entertaining football. Star were awarded a disputed penalty (It looked like a penalty to me and most of the disputing calls came from the touchline.) Not a well taken pen. - unless he was aiming for the keeper's face. the keeper parried it straight back to the kicker. With defenders dossing, it was a simple task to push it past the stranded keeper. 2 - 1. Shortlanesend's reply was rapid and emphatic. An excellent move down the right left the winger free. He took it to the goal line and pulled it back for a great volleyed goal from around the penalty spot. Certainly the goal of the game. Either side could have pinched it with several chances each, Star clearing a ball just as it was rolling over the line with the keeper well beaten. Star left it to the last few seconds. Corner. "How long ref?" asked the defenders. "20 seconds". With that Star packed the visitor's penalty area. The corner was punched out by the keeper, only to be headed back just under the crossbar. 3-2. No time to do anything more than kick off.

West Cornwall 22
Halestown 0-5 West Cornwall Dont think the scoreloine reflects the game, we (West Cornwall), should have had plenty more from neat attacking play.....mainly down to me that we didnt have more . To be fair though halestown could have had a few, were it not for a good goalkeeping performance from our stand in when he fancies it goalkeeper!!!!!!! Although dont think it would have had any bearing on the result, fair play to halestown who didnt give up and kept going right until the end, and were also good hosts. :c:

Guest WendronSun
Wendron 1 - Storm 6.. A very heavy pitch forced the game to be moved to another pitch at the club, hey we even thought about playing on the five aside court?! Things are looking more positive at Wendron with a couple of more players ready to come into the team (Bill the forms are on the way). Next week is a new week and Wendron will remain positive. Thanks to Storm for a great game. Until next time :c:
