Porthleven FC AGM

Recommended Posts

No news to report back from the AGM really, and regarding the decision to decline our place in the Premier league, its was agreed by all who attended the AGM that it is not suitable for Porthleven to enter at this moment in time, with the points laid out by the chairman in the Press released earlier.

paps, just to say that it appears that your club is getting a bit of unnecessary mud thrown in their direction because they decided to decline their place in the premier league.personally i think it's quite commendable that port have taken this stance and have first and foremost put the welfare of the club before anything else.it is important that you learn to walk before you try to run and if the chairman etc feel that it wouldn't be in the best interests of the club to take promotion at the moment then they should be commended for declining the offer.they could have easily accepted the offer and then ended up out of their depth, suffered financial problems etc and ended up in an uncontrollable downward spiral but instead of taking the unnecessary risk they have decided to play safe and make sure that EVERYTHING is in place before taking the leap.there's no reason to assume that you wont get the chance again in the future and if it's right for the club and they feel ready when the time comes then good luck to you all.
